I havent head anything about the violence level in PS so maybe some of you have. I was thinking since we are all going to be in full body armor which ofcouse is made of some type of hardcore material the blood should be minimal...instead i think itd make more sense to see sparks flying whenever you hit someone *btw are we going to have personal sheild defense?* and maybe some blood when thier dead body hits the floor. I just hate it when I pump a guy full of lead at close range and all I see is smoke...soooo i think sparks would look cool...bullets flyin off body armor and all that.

then again what about explosions? ...I really wouldnt been feelin well if I caught a tank shell...come to think of it...i remember reading something about loosing limbs and medics can "repair" you...with their magical nanobots...which is a real theroy in reality, nanotechnology...cool crap.

I think they are trying to keep the rating at E (everyone) or is it teen..? I suppose the concept of shooting other people would bring it up to teen level...but then again any MMOG should automatically be teen..so yea they wanna keep the level at teen which can't have gibs

also I don't think the devs are very big on needlessly violent content, though it can spice up some games, this game it wouldn't do much good for.

I run Tribes2 at 1024*768 resolution with max settings and "anistrophy" off and get 50(lowest) to 120fps outside. I get 100(lowest) to 220(highest)fps indoors.

Any info on how it would run would be EXTREMELY appreciated.

hmm, tribes and PS have the same idea...large scale team combat...buuuuut PS is massive scale...sooooooooo....if your running those FPS there...my illogical guess would be youll loose about 50 fps in places in PS...then again is also depends on the engine *looks at Daoc*

As long as I get 50 FPS I don't care, and I bet nobody can tell the difference either :)

Quick tip to increase ur framerates, keep things on 16 bit colour instead of 32 bit, I'm colour blind so I can't tell the difference but hardly anyone else I ask can tell the difference either :D

Geez, I saw an awesome increase in fps from my gf2pro to my gf4 ti4200 :/ wtf is a gf3 ultra?

When I got a GF4 Ti4600 and tried it out on my system, there was only a 10-20fps increase.

er uh, yeah.... I /guess/ the gf3 ultra would be the gf3 ti500, since its the fastest gf3 available. It is also the exact same price as a gf4 ti4200 (atleast on pricewatch).

Btw, the GF2 Pro and Ultra are not the same. HUGE DIFFERENCE

Not when my pro was clocked at the same core and memory speed as an Ultra :/

Its not the core speed that matters as much as the chipset. Take an AMD for example:

P4 may/does have the fastest (MHz wise) CPU out. But an AMD thats trailing by 600MHz is right along side of it performance wise.

One thing that people think and its a very common misconception, is that the more cycles it can process the faster it is, but what if the other chipset can can process several ______ at a time...

hehe, except for one little thing, all gf2s had the same core..some just ran at a faster clockspeed (although the gf2ti pro had a smaller die core I believe) and anyways on the gf2 the limited in fps was the memory speed, which like $5 in memory sinks can let you hit like 520 on a good quality card :/


And yes the p4 does have the worst core ever, but luckily they have the extra gig or so of mhz to make up for it :)

Ive had the GF2 Pro, MX II, GTS, and now Ultra II, and the Ultra beats the shit of out all 3 of them.
