Well I don't know how well it's going to work with my setup but...

This will be an AGN-TV event. Live Video Coverage.

Hopefully it will work enough to let you see the action. :p

UPDATE: Problem fixed, do not try to view the stream with Firefox 0.9!

Currently having trouble getting it to work but I will be persistent, great idea, maybe it's just me.

Love the idea!

Nice work Mars. And for all of the people with Firefox or whatever browser that wouldn't let them work next time try opening winamp then in the playlist view click add then add url and just type the URL of the stream their.

Actually firefox should have no more problem with that link than IE does - A .pls file is a winamp playlist. Normally winamp associates itself with this extension naturally. When you click on that link in mirc, it should open your default browser (IE, firefox, whatever).
With Firefox, you are given an option to open with the associated program (winamp) and also a checkbox to make this the default action. Once you do that, the .pls file will download, open, and launch winamp automatically each time you click that link.

As for browsers like firefox who want to be able to view the video from the from page however, that requires an activex player as a one time download. IE has no problems with activex, but firefox doesn't support it natively. However, there is a download that allows activex plugins to work with firefox. Details are in the AGN FAQ. Hope that answers all the firefox questions.

Well the good news is, that it worked somewhat. We did produce a stream and have some video - such as it was. The bad news was PS reset my mixer settings when it launched and we didn't have game sounds or Sporkfire for a long time. And the REALLY bad news is, the recording was lost. The last 4 secs were the only thing that saved. Apparently, the recording program overwrites the existing file if a connection was lost. Apparently, it lost connection one or more times, but obviously the last time was 4 secs from the end and that's all there was to the recording. :bang:

But it was great fun - Kudos to Sporkfire for setting up the world and providing commentary. Learned some things. We'll do better next time. Hopefully with a better setup. For now at least, my upload rate will limit what I can do - but I hope to have some improvements to my setup soon. Apologies for the lost recording and the missing audio - but at least we have lots of room for improvement.

Lastly a BIG thanks to a great community for their turnout. I think we'll turn some heads once the numbers go public. Great job by the VS for holding on to the capitol and great fights by the TR and NC. Excellent action - we hope to let more people see it soon.

It was an awesome broadcast despite the hiccups which were merely niggles considering it was thrown together at the last minute, great job

And it was really cool that Sporkfire was giving commentary, was interesting to hear how we were doing over on the other continents. :D

Now all we have to do is wait for the numbers to appear :)

Well some more good news. I have resurected a video card (FX 5600) which has clone abilities. This GREATLY enhanced my ability to cast video with a MUCH nicer picture. I am still limited by my upload bandwidth or I'd really be able to push amazing quality, but count on a considerably better picture even at low rate. This also means I can capture on the fly to file which will allow me to grab some great in-game footage. Still have some more hardware to re-arrange but this is a significant development for my formerly limited casting abilities. Thanks for the kind words and I look forward to the next cast. :D

I look forward to the day Ask the Devs is done via video feed :brow:

Probably a long way away though :D

All we need is the Devs to have a webcam. Then just a webpage with all the webcams i.e. Hamma's, Marsman's, and then who ever the Dev or Devs are.

Indeed, but that wouldn't be using AGN-TV.

It would be better if somehow you could show the webcam stream of the person talking.... teamlook instead of teamspeak :D
