I know there have been several eve threads, and I am sorry to make a new one. I just have a few things to say.

Could everyone who plays eve or wants to get started in eve please post here with your in game screen name.

Also, all PSU members that play Eve should have the PSU chat channel open at all times. To do this, go to the channel tab on on the menu bar on the right. Search for PSU and join the channel.

If you are in need of an excelent corp (clan) the unofficial PSU corp is Xaeon Traders and Miners. Me, Rayder and Darksim are all members and I belive a few other PSU members have applied. To join go to the otalieto system and dock at the bottom station on the list. Find the clan under the offices tab and click apply.

Btw, if you want to try eve, go to mmorpg.com. There is a free trial.... somewhere on that site.


Edit: Oh yeah, and I almost forgot.

Methinks CCP would like to get the current Castor thing working 'right' though.

Destroyers and Battlecruisers are definately in though, and we should see the rest of the Elite Frigates and some Elite Cruisers. As well as the Tier 4s and some new ships in what we already have...

Dude, I am not rich in game. I have only been playing for a week. And the Corp is awsome. It has just started and is kindof small, but we are growing rapidly. All the players are really nice. Does anyone understand the EVE gamecard dealie? It says that when activated, 20 days get deducted from the initial amount that the gamecard holds. Does this mean that you only get 30 days of playing time from a 50-day gamecard? Or do you get the full 50, but the first 20 are "free?"

Open map, search for where you wanna go, set destination, turn on auto pilot, go to work :)

But yeah, search for the place you want to go to, right click on it and chose "set destination", come out of the map, at the bottom left corner of your info display is a yellow button, this is the autopilot. Press it and it will take you where you need to go.

Be warned that if someone targets you, autopilot will be disabled.

But yeah, pirates can hang around jumpgates and as I've said earlier, if ANYTHING targets you, your autopilot WILL TURN OFF. So be careful if you're stepping into 0.6 space and below. (0.8 and 0.7 tend to have a heavy concord presence around the jumpgates).

ok to learn faster

each skill fits into a category
each category has an attribute
your character has attributes
the higher an attribute is, the faster the skills in the category that has that attribute will train

to train faster you simply need to make your attribute higher, there are two ways to do this

you can get implants and install them, they make your attributes higher, but you need science level 3 and cybernetics level 1 trained, plus implants are expensive

the other way is to train learning skills, learning is the category name, you have to buy these skills, they are learning(actual skill name) reduces) 2% of all skill learning, empathy makes charisma attribute higher, spatial awareness makes perception attribute higher, iron will makes willpower higher, analytical mind makes intelligence higher, instant recall makes memory higher

each time you train these except for learning they make their attribute go up 1 point

You also have the option of choosing which attributes are higher than the others at the start if you choose to make your own build. Also, if you choose to make your own, you can give yourself far more starting skills than normal, at the cost of skill levels, which isn't a bad tradeoff at all.

lol i think i give up on this game.I cant even kill low lvl pirates in a Merlin cause I just lost ANOTHER one and sitting waiting for my skills to improve which takes 24 hours at least and waiting for jumps is boring the hell outta me,not to mention mining for a few hours and only getting like 15k if im lucky.Only thing good about this game is the idea of becoming a pirate.I may log on here of there if stupidity gets the best of me or i become extremely bored but man i dont understand how anyone could stand to pay a monthly fee.It takes about half hour to travel somewhere where you have 5 minutes of fighting then you have to travel 30 more minutes.And courier missions are the worst

firecracker thats the problem with eve, it takes time

to become a pirate you need to play for atleast 3 months to get your skills and decent ship up

but i think that the devs are trying to change the game so that newer players can get into pvp by making each ship type on work on itself, battleships can only do major damage and hits on other battleships, but go hunting with infernus and eine its fun

I won't even pretend I gave this game a fair shot. Played through the tutorial and a little beyond, maybe 90 minutes in all. I don't even see potential for it being fun. The lack of control, the interface which I loathed, the fact that the tutorial doesn't even hint towards fun things later on in the game, just an overall ugh. My gaming time is way too scarce lately to keep trying a game and hope that it gets fun later.

Alot of people buy other accounts so they have more than 1 character, and theres a way to run two eves at a time so you could control them both as a window.

Its handy in mining. You have a char mining, and another hauling.

Multi-boxing is a technique well versed in the MMORPG world. Personally I think it defies the whole point of the game but some people just like being alone.

Although 3 would be better, 1 mining, 1 protecting and 1 hauling :)

Basic Mining drones aren't really much, but they're good for learning the basics of using drones and will teach you to pick them up before you warp instead of leaving more valuable combat drones behind later :)

one thing about the megathron is you either suck with it, or you uber pwn, and i know some VERY good pilots that fly megathrons, even now they still kick ass, I know one guy who has 6 arbalest torpedo launchers and he uses a megathron instead of his raven, ravens are just point, lock, and shoot, whereas megathrons require alot more skill to use

of course my megathron isnt going to see combat for another month or so, shes on her way but shes not ready yet

ill tell you exactly why CA is failing

first of all XIF are called carebears, they think that we are more intent on saving ships rather than advancing

we kill their ships not many tho, but enough

eventually CA lose ships due to hit and run mission, their mining ops are disrupted and they can't rebuild ships fast enough, and we kill faster than they can replace, but only by a small margin

since XIF was intent on saving ships at the beginning of the war, our losses don't add up as much and we are still standing while they are rebuilding, this allows us to roam free and keep attacking CA

the carebear strategy pays off

during all this SA comes and backs up XIF in large offensives and CA is taking heavy losses

eventually CA will dwell in empire, our ships that log off in deep CA just sitting there and the lines are getting pushed for them to come out

CA haven't pushed pass immensea in 2 months

The map has changed too much for me to recognise it... no more C4 in Paragon Soul or Estoria... no more FE in Vale of the Silent and Geminate... FA just a fraction of what it used to be... NCA (a relatively new coalition dedicated to freedom for Pure Blind, Tribute, and Vale of the Silent (VotS still has NCA presence tho)) has PA cut off completely... CA is collapsing in on a lack of resources... heh... dynamic politics if i've ever seen them...
