Last nights server downtime was due to a service outage in UUNET's backbone. This outage was courtesy of several known vulnerabilities in Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Even though our server does not run any Microsoft Software (and never will) we were affected due to the huge amount of traffic caused by this worm.
