EDIT NOTE: I decided to redo this rather than post a new one. I just copied my intro from the WMBA Forum (http://warmach.net/forum/m/4823817/viewthread/4011801-baneblade-terribadass):
To those that know me, I'm legendary for making things other than dull. To those that don't know me, I'm just another statistic to trample on the way to the top. But, let's get some detail here.
My internet gaming addiction started with Descent 2 (and later Freespace) over Khan 97 (an IPX spoofer client). I was the master blaster of internet spaceships before the phrase was coined. On the Microsoft Sidewinder Pro of all things.
I then discovered something called Ultima Online, but couldn't get my head to not ache at Spriteville... so I played single player games until I found out about some minor game company called Verant Interactive (aka SISA/SOE) that had some fun games called Tanarus and Infantry Online. My Station Account was created the day before the WTC attacks.
I wasn't an addict yet, but I was playing some games (mostly trials) when I found them. I was still a single player gamer most of the time. Interwebs were still prebroadband back then. PlanetSide came on to my radar in April 2003. I got into the Open Beta and was hooked. I was Deamon on NC Markov in PS1 Beta. When the game released in May, my Beta name was stolen, so I went with ActiveX. Don't ask.
I created the outfit that preceded WMBA on November 22nd, 2003 called Enforcers.
During my spotty PS1 career, I played other MMOs, primarily EvE, SWG, WoW, and AO. Though I have done the trial or F2P for just about every game ever made. I've deleted Terabytes of game files over the years.
EvE I'm still addicted to, but am over a year sober. I played since April 8th, 2004. I've gone through more mains than most people ever roll in their entire MMO gaming history. ActiveX was the first, later 'repossessed' by an 'friend'. Protip: Never let anyone play 'custodian' for your characters or assets. I lost an entire EvE Alliance that way... to my father of all people. Then I was Eximius, Thor Xian, Anubis Xian, and finally Val'Dore. I am basically EvE's Phoenix.
In SWG, I played on several servers, but mainly Radiant and Bria. I had many characters, none of them particularly notable, as I rerolled almost monthly. SWG had a very strict character slot limit.
In WoW, I played since 2005 on and off. My longest stretch was as the GM of Ebon Crusaders on Knight-Captain Obvious, Thunderhorn server. That character is now Foritaine on Mal'Ganis. I don't plan to remember my WoW login deets anytime soon.
Anarchy Online was probably my favorite MMO gaming era to date. The community that was around was just simply amazing. I played back when AO was pioneering MMO F2P with the Froob Account. Still going I'm pretty sure actually.
I've been around the block a few times. I even disliked TotalBiscuit before it was cool and before he was more than just another name on a forum. He had some pretty retarded ideas about how things should be in PS1, lemmetellyah. Anyway, WMBA is a culmination of things I've wanted to make happen before. A multigaming clan that makes Sturmgrenadier, Goons, and TEST look like prissy hipster clubs. I don't want to charge membership fees nor blueball members into donating. I've been the guy without a penny to his name. I've been the guy whose only source of happiness is an online community that doesn't know they have a nearly homeless member listening to them bitch about their Razor mouse cocking up lol. I wouldn't trade my story so far for anything, every champion is forged in fire.
You may have run into me before, I don't know... but it was probably your fault.
