I am a soldier. It's that cut and dry really. I joined the uprising about a year after it started, I couldn't stand sitting idly and watching people fight. I wanted in, I wanted to help. I started as any recruit does in the military these days, wandering around doing your best to find a situation you fit in, be it defending a point or charging into enemies. I quickly learned to gauge my eagerness to get into the fight. Within a few weeks of watching aircraft strafe enemy positions, I realized I needed to get in the air.

Soon I was a Reaver pilot, it took time to learn but when you train on the job you tend to pick things up quickly. I've been a fly boy ever since. I did my runs with larger outfits; Army of One, Falcon Attack Force, Blue Lions for a short while as well, but they either fell apart or weren't what I was looking for.

Two or three years into service, hard to remember which at this point, I found myself leading small groups on covert ops. It wasn't long until I left the group I was in and pulled together my fellows into Darkfire Company. I had gone from a soldier following orders to the guy giving them, it was a change.

Darkfire has been my lifeline on Auraxis, my family. The unit has changed since it was founded but I wouldn't fight with anyone else. I can only hope to lead them successfully and teach them what I can.

We're all soldiers, we all fight. Sure, we might have different reasons for being in this war, but when the bullets ricochet overhead and explosion send shrapnel flying it doesn't matter. All we have is each other.

-----------------------------------

In summary, I am seven year veteran to the world of PlanetSide and have been leading Covert and Special Ops for the past four years. I value tactics and survival over a massive kill/death ratio because I believe a true victory is found in outsmarting your enemy, not out gunning them. I will happily teach new players what I can anytime they approach me. Nothing sounds more beautiful than the boom of a 150mm or the echo of a Gauss Cannon, however the ring of a Gauss Rifle comes pretty close too.

Good hunting to all of you, and if you're not NC... well... I guess we'll see what happens. :D

Are you the 'GoldDragon' I kept running over, along with a lot of other greenies, in a Vanguard way back in the day?

Possibly. I've been run over by many an idiot, none of which I'm overly fond of. :)

I had a macro:

'/r Get your ass off the ground if you don't want to be grief.'

I used it more than my REK. But those were the days before hitting infantry dumb enough to be mowable was actually more dangerous than running headlong into a Prowler column. Nowadays the idiots can still be idiots and the tank just becomes an easier target.
