I hope you guys like it, my brother and I made it up in about 48 hours. We are huge planetside fans, we've been around since Planetside 1 beta and can't wait for Planetside 2.
We used everything we could find on this site as far as concept art, screenshots, wallpapers, and logos. We also mirrored a couple of shots to give it a fresh take and adjusted the shadows, color, and contrast.
Enjoy

Good job
I know it would look awesome in PS2, but I think I noticed a Republic Commando HUD in there.

Ha, figured id throw that in there to show what it could look like if it had anamorphic 3d perspective hud. Here's my thread on it http://www.planetside-universe.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36804

Hot damn, dude! That is kick ass! It's amazing how much that mirror effect can make it look totally different. Well played, sir.

Sophisticated! :) Good pick of music, good use of the trailer and the screenies, nice cut, extra visuals that enhances the mood!
Now it's SOE's turn show us something new!
Good job!
Lets hope we see more official videos and fan made videos of the same quality :)

To be honest I find fan made trailers a bit tacky.
..But that was even better than the official SoE trailer. Good job dude.

Pretty good
I like how you flipped some of the video to make it look like new footage, kept it fresh. Also liked the NC HUD (nice spot Bags). I expected footage to follow each of the faction screens but I guess that would have left less footage for the crescendo at the end.
As epic as it is Heart of Courage is getting a bit overused nowadays (and I include myself in that statement :().
Good trailer
The only thing I would change is to remove the MAX wallpapers at 0:25 seconds, and replace the images with enlarged logos of each faction with the corresponding name underneath. The factions logo should only be a second each, with a fade-in fade-out effect

This was great!
I only have one complaint, that adding the Republic Commando HUD feels like misrepresentation to me

Yea we were going to do that but there just was'nt enough footage of all 3 factions. Now if they showed all empire specific vehicles and maxs "which i wish there was alot of vehicle footage, that would really captured what PlanetSide is all about" we would've done that.
Now the music was tough, spent couple hours trying to figure that one out. We were listening to Hans Zimmer, Steve Jablonsky, Two Steps from Hell, etc.
We knew heart of courage had been used quite a bit and was poplular, which was a good thing for trying to get views on youtube, and it had the beat and tempo for the story we had planned.
The only thing I would change is to remove the MAX wallpapers at 0:25 seconds, and replace the images with enlarged logos of each faction with the corresponding name underneath. The factions logo should only be a second each, with a fade-in fade-out effect
If there was footage of Max's and empire specific content then we would've used the logos and the names of each factions instead
That video made me stoked, I'm spamming it everywhere :D
Spam away,
I have it posted up on reddit and gametrailers.com as well.
It's only going to get better from here on in with new trailers showing vehicles, maxs, air, bases, ect. Lets show'em how awesome PlanetSide 2 is!

Yea i know what ya mean, we were going to remove it the last minute but using a subtle curved anamorphic HUD not only will make identical HUD elements use less screen realestate (as the polygons are rotated slightly) it has the bonus of enhancing perspective and creating a more natural sense of pointing in a game.
also we intended it to be examples in technique only not a suggestion of style for copying. The style could easily be employed in a anamorphic projected HUD design.
Thank for all the kind words, the restless nights were well worth it. :)

I've never played republic commando, and i was skeptical when you described it in your thread, but that looks amazing. Honestly I didn't even NOTICE it until the last clip of it, job well done!
I don't think they could fit everything they'd need to for a game this complex on something like that though.
But yea interface designers for PS2, give this some serious thought. o.o

That was a great trailer, loved the pacing and the music (Two Steps from Hell make fantastic scores).
I like the added HuDs, almost enough to hope they are an option in game, though not forced on us.
The only thing I could say I would have liked better is if the faction names were written or animated to type out over the top of each of the screen shots "Terran Republic_ " "New Conglomerate_ " etc. That and with line at 1:06 "One goal_ Global Domination_ " the cursor placeholder "_" doesn't move down to the second line, you end up having two of them, it bugged me a little is all.
Again great trailer I hope you make more in the future, so good.

Creative, not my favorite TSFH tune should had used "invincible" from their newest work..
Eagerly await future trailers that further emphasizes the greatness of PS!
Great job, I added it to my Favs list. I can't wait to see more new footage now.

T MAN, haha, this vid is incredible! I've watched this probably 15 times now and I can't get enough. Forwarded it on to a number of friends who were unfamiliar with PS1 but are now on board for PS2's launch day.
Excellent work all around. I can hardly wait to see what you and your bro do with new gameplay footage.

Nicely done. An exceptional example of what good quality can be when one has very little material to work with. Many thanks.
