Step into the armor of a relentless Space Marine and use a combination of lethal and deadly weapons to crush overwhelming alien forces. Immerse yourself in an intense and brutally violent world based on the richest science fiction fantasy ever created.

In Warhammer® 40,000® Space Marine® you are Captain Titus, a Space Marine of the Ultramarines chapter and a seasoned veteran of countless battles.

A millions-strong Ork horde has invaded an Imperial Forge World, one of the planet-sized factories where the war machines for humanity’s never ending battle for survival are created. Losing this planet is not an option, but a darker and far more evil threat is lurking large in the shadows of this world.

With an Imperial liberation fleet en-route, the Ultramarines are sent in to hold key locations until reinforcements arrive. Captain Titus and a squad of Ultramarine veterans use bolter and chainsword to take the fight to the enemies of mankind.

Key features:

Storm Into Battle – Step fearlessly into the heart of combat as an unstoppable Space Marine. Never hide, never cower, just purge all that stand in your way.
Unleash Visible Violent Death – Using an innovative new combat system, switch seamlessly from high-caliber ranged weapons to devastating close-combat strikes. Taking out an enemy has never been so satisfying.
Experience the dark future of Warhammer 40,000 – Jump into a rich universe of awe-inspiring landscapes, deadly enemies, immense battles and ruthless annihilation.
Take the Battle Online – Form your own Space Marine squad or Chaos Space Marine warband and face off in 8 vs 8 online matches. Gain experience and unlock new weapons and armor to customize the Devastator, Assault, and Tactical Marine classes.

Official Release Date: September 6th 2011

As a WH40k fan I'm definitely buying it, (already pre-ordered 2 months ago), so I was wondering if anyone else is going to buy the game. Both coop and multiplayer look cool, it's rare to see a good hack'n'slash (with guns) these days.

I'll be picking this up. Sounds interesting, if they get it right with the whole mix of close quaters/ranged gameplay then the multiplayer should be sweet. :)

I can't tell. Is it an FPS or RTS?

Its an action game, its not an RTS.

I'm guessing its FPS/ThirdPS.

Great, now you have to find the nearest ancient ghetto. To fight Da Green Boyz. Your bolter better be firing real rounds, 'cause they'll be firing real glocks at you...

After that head to the closest zoo and fight vile hideous beasts of the Maw. Especially penguins.

And finally, you should travel to the Eye of Terror and defeat the Dark William of the Gates. He rests in his Valley of Silicon.

After the quest is complete, return for a reward.

Liking the Dynasty Warriors feel to this.

Though I'm still waiting for the right 40k game that really captures the dark gory and wartorn universe it is.

GoW is yet > WH40k:SM. I mean it's the thrid time I see a good title released totally raw! Crysis 2, F3AR, WHSM... "More moneyz, Less working" is a bad concept.

P.S.
YOU HEAR ME PS2 DEVS?!!!!!
"More moneyz, Less working" is a bad concept!!!

Do not release the game in the raw state. Damn it, don't even release the beta before you go over it yourselves few more times after you think it's ready!

It is indeed pretty sweet. I was fine with the single player but just trying multiplayer was crazy fun the first game.

To make it clear - most of my concern are regarding MP.

Singleplayer is awesome...

I was actually impressed by the fact that randomly slashing away leaves you the floor quipping about the Emperor of Mankind. You have to think about each thrust and choosing when to execute and when to get out of Dodge.

Hoping co-op in October brings new missions for more gameplay fun :)

Well despite how I ever relish the 40k IP, I have to admit that not even my seated 'fanboism' could curtail my utter disappointment with this game. 0 replay value which is further plagued with a dilapidated mp, this really isn't worth full retail price of other games which actually possess replay credentials.

For starters the alleged "epic" campaign wasn't quite so, granted it is the best part of the game by far and it had its sway for awhile with juicy executions and general dismemberment bliss but after awhile its visceral combat parallels the ending of the game which to summarize amounts to a last stand against some waves with an anti climatic boss which devolves into a QTE after which you are further slighted with a 'to be continued' ending to boot, needless to say that's not truly awe inspiring at all. Granted yes it had its moments that I liked it up till this point such as defending the Titan.

Last and yes the least is the archaic arcade pvp which supports only a mere 16 players which is just an atrocity by today's standards (well unless you're a console based kiddie) not to mention non existent dedicated servers furthers this dismay. The final nail in its coffin, they shipped it with 5 maps to play on and all of which say 1 are devoid of any dynamic layout that you'll need in mp with a game like this.

Sadly it seems the last glimmer of hope for this games seemingly bleak future lies with this coined "co-op" that they intend to add in Oct. Just FYI this coop is ostensible in title it shalt be a co-op for the campaign just an added mp game mode basically.

LOL. The zen-like calm on his face like a "Hindu cow" as said by Tyler Durden in Fight Club.

The intoduction to the singleplayer was amazing, the graphics and the shots were also amazing. Though the story needed a bit of work and the gameplay didnt just need to be hack and slash.
