We didn’t know where we were going or what we were to do until we were inbound in the galaxy. this was supposed to be the biggest secret operation ever (Operation Wet Cat). As I climbed to the right gunner window of the transport I could see only something you’d have to see for your self. Thousands upon thousands of galaxy’s swarmed in the air. Even for an experienced soldier like me it was impossible for me to conceive such a force. “ Corporal get back to your damn seat before I bust a cap in yo ass” the pilot rudely yelled over the com. channel. Like an obedient child responding to a parent I sat back in my seat and took a long deep sigh full of fear and anticipation.
It wasn’t a long wait before the pilot yelled in her loud, obnoxious voice ”make ready you pansies were goin in hard” I felt the massive bulk of the ship swing around to a landing position and heard the clank of the ramp at the end of the transport lower. Being the first one out (except for the Enforcer), I had no idea what to expect until I saw the buggy flair into a twisted burning hunk of metal. Every man in the ship saw this and immediately flowed onto a beach surrounded by turrets, troops, and tanks.
Taking cover behind what was our Enforcer I stared down the beach in aw, amazement, and disbelief as galaxy after galaxy landed its troops and practically bounced back into the air, but what caught my eye was how I had underestimated our landing force. Now galaxy’s poured in from everywhere, as far as the eye could see galaxy’s were coming and going.
An explosion off to my left bounced me out of my daze and back into the hellhole that was that beach. Almost my entire squad was hunkered down behind the wreak except for Thompson who was gunned down before he could make it. There was nothing we could do except wait for the regeneration tubes to spit another one of him out. A loud explosion rocked the beach as a galaxy with only one wing plowed onto the sand. The crash was enough a lull in the chaos, immediately thinking as a group my squad swarmed from behind the buggy and up from the abyss of hell and into the world of Cyssor.
