I haven't played that game for over two years. At the time my main character was a level 80 Resto Druid and I also had a level 80 Death Knight, along with various other lower level characters spread across a couple of servers. My druid was 450 Inscription/450 Herbalism. But I just don't know if it's worth it to anyone currently playing the game that they'll have to level their character up to 85.

I personally could never consider selling my accounts really. My name is mine, I could never think about letting anyone else use it. Paid or not. Naturally at some crazy amount of money I would, but for a sane price? No way.
Besides, you might wanna play again one day. Don't think you could even get much money for an account like that to be worth it.

Considering you wouldn't get much (I'm thinking less then $100, $200 if you're lucky) I'd just keep it in case, one day, the game loses it's suckitude

People buy WOW accounts for $100+? Why not save it for some DVDs instead...

depending on whats on them
they can still sell for 500+
but were talking massive achievements, lots of old gear/up to date gear, multiple 85's, many mounts, titles, etc.
the prices have definitely come down since vanilla but its not like the market stopped.

A friend of a friend just sold his WoW account for 2900€.
That's not a common price though, not to mention he was the top player on the server. Had several fully geared characters/classes.
He got that crazy offer so he went on and sold it, level a new mage in a couple of days and had his guild boost him to old gear levels :D

That is the biggest fucking waste of money I've ever seen (aside from the American government). But to each their own..

Why do you think FTP came about? To circumvent the eBay selling of ingame items etc...
Used to sell dozens of small houses/boats for 85$+ on UO. Bought/sold towers, black dye tubs, messages in bottles, etc... Gold especially. 1,000s of $$$ worth of stuff. But when it came down to MY own characters, never did that, even with GM Mages, Blacksmiths, etc... Would rather just shut them down rather than let someone pose as me.
Glad I can buy tank camo ingame later rather than trying to do trades with random people.
My friend sold his account back when level 70 was the cap. He had some decent PVP geat, and a 70 mage. Got $300ish, IIRC.
