Anyone else looking into this game? Could pass the time until PS2.

This is the first I've heard of it. For those who are curious, the official site (https://register.perfectworld.com/bl_splash) alludes to being able to download/play immediately, but the registration email activation link doesn't seem to be working currently. Watching the gameplay demo, the x-ray/mech features seem interesting, but potentially exploitable.

It has pretty good graphics and handling, pretty solid F2P game. But once I got into the store and saw things you can buy that increase health, stamina, regen, I was let down. Just haven't felt like giving it another chance.

But it's definitely worth a try

and the xray thing isn't exploitable because everyone has it, and is encouraged to use it, lol. This isn't a game for campers, anyone can see you hiding behind the wall. It doesn't last long and I think there are perks/gear to improve detection or hiding. It adds a unique element to gameplay.

Played Backlicht Retribution and I didn't really liked it. I did like the art style. But the gameplay, not so much. I don't like that ''wallhack'' thing. But I am not really a fan of those CoD type of ''speed'' FPS.

I'm DLing this now to give it a try. I got 21 free item codes at E3, so if anyone tries the game and likes it, send me a PM and I'll hook you up.

I enjoyed the game and I thought one of the most interesting things behind it was the weapon customization. Definitely beyond anything I've seen from any other game.

"Blacklight Retribution" is what I'm going to be doing to infiltrators, lol.

I played this a few months ago. I can say its a pretty good game, but there is 1 mechanic that kills it for me, the "wallhack". Its just not my cup of tea at all. I like the stealthy move around and flank people kinda gameplay, completely impossible with this. Theres only 1 item that I found can block the wallhack but you have to camp in order to be invisible, not interested in that either.

I got to like level 20 or something. I enjoyed the weapon customization and how the weapons felt overall, but just got tired of that "wallhack". So it got uninstalled.

I played this game a bit in it's early open beta.... tutorial was fun however once you go to actual servers - horrible crashes all over the place all the time. Average game play time before the crash was 30-60 seconds. Also many other guys complained of having the same issues on the forums and no-one did squat... i left a a week sitting there, tried again if they had fixed it or replied something, since they didn't I decided: Never again am I to launch that game.

That's why PS2 should sort all the major issues before OB launch.

If my computer ran better I'd be able to enjoy the game quite a bit. I like that everyone can spot adversaries through walls for a moment, because 8v8 FPS with large maps feel damn empty otherwise.

The high amount of weapon customization makes it pretty appealing to me though. I guess I need to upgrade my system for PS2 anyway.

The time to kill in this game is ridiculous :P On the small maps it's easy for a level 1 to win because it only takes like 2 shots to kill someone.

Although the real problem is, pay 2 win and people putting mines on the spawns haha + later on in the game a lot of people have suped up equipment

I really enjoy Blacklight Retribution. I absolutely fucking love the gun sounds, so raw and er scary. Love the pace of the game, kind of reminds me of CS pre source.
But! It is so so so grindy! Still go back and play it now and then.

Now Tribes ascend. That is a fantastic game, although rather grindy as well if you dont make a cash purchase. Its worth it once you get over the steep learning curve. It is such an incredibly satisfying game, getting silly mid air explosive kills, or a long range nitron to knock a flag out of a cappers hands is the most satisfying thing.

So what kind of loadouts are you guys running with?

Policenaut

Here's what I'm using

Loadout 1:
Receiver: Assault Rifle
Muzzle: Generic
Barrel: Briar Composite LBiV (increased damage, reduced running spead, range and spread)
Scope: Krane EX9 Holo (The first holo you get that's a glass screen)
Stock: Generic

Loadout 2:
Receiver: Assault Rifle
Muzzle: Generic
Barrel: Briar TDF 13 (greatly increases range and reduces spread, reduced damage/running speed)
Scope: Krane EX9 Holo (The first holo you get that's a glass screen)
Stock: Generic

I've got 13k GP right now, but I honestly can't decide what I want to get. I'm having a lot better time with the Briar Composite LBiV over the TDF 13. I thought the increased range on the TDF 13 would be nice, but I can't handle the recoil on the assault rifles for me to kill anyone at that range anyway. Usually prefer the Composite LBiV for run and gunning. If it's a map that's more long range, I stick with some people who have single-shot rifles and watch their backs. Love the Krane EX9 Holo. It's still on the 3 day preview mode, can't decide if I want to buy it or wait until the next holo.

Really disappointed with the stock selection. It feels like most of them give to many drawbacks for the amount of buffs I'm getting. Especially the ones that reduce scope-in time. .15 extra seconds feels like its life or death. Anyone have any suggestions?

Loadout 1
Reciever: Assault rifle
Muzzle: Hullbreach ZXi Nexus
Barrel: Briar Leatherneck5B.ID
Scope: Krane EX9 Holo
Magazine: Vulcan STD-04XLAR
Stock: Krane COGs GX

Loadout 2
Reciever: Heavy assault rifle
Muzzle: ArmCom NT4
Barrel: Briar Leatherneck5B.ID
Scope: Sliverwood CONS ELO-Tech
Magazine: Vulcan STD-03Q HAR
Stock: ArmCom AC10 Sharp

What I've been trying to get is as low a spread as possible, especially with ADS, while also keeping the recoil as low as I can. The ADS spread for the AR is 0.04, max 3.6 and for the HAR it's 0.14, max 3.01.
Atm. I'm mostly running with my HAR until they nerf it, which is also why I don't want to use it exclusively. I will probably replace it with a burst fire rifle.

Yea i just started playing this, im really liking it, the game plays pretty well compared to BC2 or BF3....i cant quite figure out why though...

Exactly! It feels fluid and natural, despite being a "modern" fps game... PS2 should emulate that feel... though not the retardedly low TTK...
