I know you all dont care, but since this is an introductory posting Ill tell a little about my PS history.
Im vanu, rockin the purple naniplate stealth suit. I played Version 1 til what I considered the bitter end... I once logged in and was the only vanu at all on my server. Sad day. Came back a while later and tried it out again, but still only found 40 people on the server. Been hoping and praying for PS2, and im excited about it finally being made.
Ive been following development on facebook since the facebook page came up, and on the off chance that a dev actually reads these, here are my thoughts on a few things. Many are probably already hashed out and set in stone, but meh.. i like to type.
1. The AMS: Im sad. rolling as covertly as possible near the battle and popping the stealth field, and stealthing around with the see-stealth implant was one of my fav things. When i could drop an AMS next to a base, and know that the spawn point that I brought, and defended, was key to winning the battle, that was elation for me. The galaxy-spawn-point thing... kinda big and obvious. odds are it wont have a stealth field.. but I will survive.
2. Kill Cam: NO. Plz no.
3. Worst thing about Vanu in PS1: Slow-mo projectiles. The other empires had an advantage in that thier bullets moved like bullets. Pop-Zoom. hit. Travel time for the plasma type weapons was so slow that you almost had to be on top of someone to really be able to hit with any consistancy. The Lasher was horrible for that when you complared it to the chaingun.
4. Squad leader spawn points: How very Battlefield of you. I hate the idea, but its not a killer for me. Just PLEEEASE make it somehow cumbersome. Make them have to set up a vulnerable module or something that takes extra slots in thier inventory. Pulling out a cell phone and clicking a button and putting it back in thier pocket is TOO easy.
5. Hackers from PS1: please go heavy with the punkbuster type stuff. I cant tell you how many times, I would see people hacking. When they were on the VS side hacking, I would suit up one of the other Empires, and hunt them down, or stay as VS and get in thier way, or screw with them using a Magrider, and pretty much torture them as best I could.
6. "generals": Please PLEASE make it so i can turn off the 12 y/o whiny cretans that spam ridiculous orders in world/command chat. squad leadership is the highest level of leadership that I ever want to pay attention to. (im sure you already might have heard this)
7. If you give me a beta key now, i will dress up like a booth babe at the next E3. (providing my boss lets me have the time off) I will play the beta with only a beamer and a rusty spoon! I will do magic shows at all of your kid's birthday parties! (believe me, thats the roughest one right there, because every time Ive performed a Kids Bday party, ive wanted to sell the little droolers to the circus. Bonus: I wont even drink all your beer.)
8. Almost forgot. I loved the little autonomous gun turrets. Cerberus/Spitfire/Shadow Turrets. Please put those in again.
