Hello new recruits,
I've had the idea to create an Outfit. If you like the sound of my Outfit and if I get enough people intrested then I will work to have it set up for the release of Planetside 2.

OVER VIEW:
The TRAF is primarily an Air Vehicle Outfit (no suprises there) we will specialise in the use of the Mosquito, Liberator and Galaxy to achive air dominance and ground support. As well as dedicated pilots and crew the Outfit will also have the AIR REGIMENT which will consist of a mix of all unit types to fulfill a wide range of situations. Training will be given for everyone new to the game as well as old veterans of the first Planetside to ensure everyone can carry out thier role not just for themselves but for the team, this will also give everyone a good oppertunity to get to work with their team mates before flying into the thick of battle.

After the first initial training program (to be worked out) a training day will be run once a month to work on new tactics and counter new enemy strategies.

As a member of the TRAF you will be required to put in about 2 hours during the week and 4 hours during weekends. Once a month we will also host a large scale weekend opperation. If you have a reason to miss a week day or weekend because of life (we all have one - some are better than others) then notify your CO -commanding officer before hand.

COMMAND STRUCTURE:
As the Outfit grows more sections will be added and people will have the chance of promotion either through long time in service or recomendation from your CO's for various reasons. (Its not official yet but I would like to reward people with something more earthly like a piece of art work I designed or maybe even custom medals or something, something you can hold which is real - let me know what you think of that idea.)

Group Captian - Leads the outfit, organises main mission objectives for the Outfit as a whole, manages the team and monthly training and opperations.

Wing Commaders - Have command of thier own wings which could be anything up to 20-30 people. Thier main job is to achieve the missions set out by the Captian using whatever they have at thier disposal. They also manage the men and women under thier command.

Squadron Leader - Squadrons are made up of 1 Galaxy, 2 Liberators and 5 Mosqitos including the Air Regiment soldiers who are part of the Galaxy. Other Squadrons will be made up of 5 or more Mosqitos or a large group of purely ground units.

Flight Lieutenant - Second in command to the Squad Leader, if the squad leader is out of action the Flight Lieutenant will ensure the group completes its misson. Also in charge of keeping a personal check on his/her squad during down time to ensure everyone is able to play at the same speed.

Pilot/Gunner - Mans the air craft and the gun turrets. Does NOT bail out without good cause. Follows orders issued by the Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant. (In the heat of battle you will rarely get direct orders from the Wing commander or Captian but if you do you follow them )

AIR REGIMENT COMMAND:
All ranks in the Regiment are below Flight Lieutenant, this means that officers who reach the top of ARC - air regiment command, have the chance to go up to Lieutenant/Flight Lieutenant - Squad Leader and so on.

Flight Lieutenant/Lieutenant - In charge of co-ordinating the ground forces of each Squad to achieve thier mission once on the ground. Answers to the Flight Lieutenant and Squad Leader. Organises training spicific for ground tactics

Flight Sergeant/Sergeant - In charge of 6-12 men (the capacity of 1-2 Galaxies not including gunners-i think). Manages team both in and out of battle.

Corporal - Second in command from the Sergeant.

Soldier/Medic - The medic is a special case as they have the freedom to hang back from the fighting and focus only on reviving if they choose. However if they hang back too far we might have a problem with that :P

I'm thinking of starting a shock trooper squad of 10-20 infantry and was curious when the game comes out if we could co-ordinate drops from your airships. Or if there was room for paratroopers/shock troopers within TRAF.

We Rarely use ground vehicals, during our monthly large scale operations you will be part of a tightly worked together unit and we cant have people just grabing tanks when we need them with thier unit.

During normal days there will be occasions im sure when ground vehicals would be used.

I ask because most of the Outfits exclude specific vehicles, and I'm a new PlanetSide 2 player. I see a usage in all vehicles: Like the Flash can be used for hit and run tactics and the prowler to defend the galaxy once it landed. I love the air combat, and was always looking for it in games. 3 anti-air tanks? Oke to heavy bombers and your done :D .

Im not saying that we wont use any of the ground vehicals at all, but our play style and tactics rely on air power such as air to air mosquitos, air to ground mosquitos and liberator boomers and infantry. I can see the flash being used if one of our galaxies is shot down and our unit needs to get back into the fight quickly, but we dont use tanks on our main operations.

If you are intrested in flying and air combat or Galaxy dropping onto the enemy bases then we would be happy to have you with us.

Ok so im on the fence I was not sure about this, I see the upsides and downsides... I will start with the downsides
-I dont know if my pc can run ps2 I have a beta key and will find out soon ( I hope :))
-I have told a few friends about this game, and they arnt likely to get this involved in the game ( probibly just play when they are bored )
-If I did join you guys as far as I can guess I wont be able to talk with my friends on skype therefore not be able to play with my friends :()
-I dont know how much time I want to commit to this game, it might just be a game I play on the weekends or when I have free time ( which is the weekends )

Now the upsides
-IT SOUNDS SUPER COOL TO ME :D
-I like the whole idea of ranks and if I like being in the outfit I will get really involved and try to move my way up, I know I would be able to learn a lot more about strategy
-I have played games where strategy and coordination matter alot, I am also used to logging on a game at times to help my team out ( usually the weekend) so I would always make the large scale operations.

So what this means is it depends, how much I like the game (probibly a lot ), how much my friends like the game, how much I like the tanks or air or if I wanna be part of drops, and how much time I want to devote to the game ( because I dont wanna let you guys down :))

they want to play PS2 but dont want to be in a outfit, i do, so when were playing PS2 i would like to play with them. i dont expect them to play as much as i will so the rest of the time i could talk to you guys, but ocationaly i would be rolling around in a tank with them just having fun not being super serious :)

Hey guys... I'm new to the whole Planetside genre and all..

But I've been reading and watching live streams on the Alpha game on youtube.
I've been interested in this game since a few years ago when I was going to play Planetside 1 but instead playing bf2, CS:S and Cod competitively.

I've been really interested in the flying vehicles in this game and saw this outfit and was immediately interested in a flying only squadron.

I've been flying choppers and jets since bf2 came out in 2004 [i think] and I've been in competitive leagues for choppers as well. I have alot of experience flying in the battlefield series and I'm [guessing] the flying will be almost the same in Planetside, if so then I'll catch on pretty quick and I'll be able to be effective immediately.

I've requested to join the group on Facebook and I hope I get a beta key soon.

But just showing interest in this squadron!

This tickles my fancy.

I've already fallen in love with the Liberator, primarily as a gunner, as my flying skills are a bit on the low side, and seeing as I'd most likely just fly around a target in a pylon (I think that's thw word for it :s) I'd get easily shot down.

Anyhow, if you need another explosives freak turning the barrels red I might be on for some action. Just have to talk to my friend about it :p

EDIT: Not to mention the mighty Galaxy equipped with bombardement type weaponry, Liberator style. Death from above!
