A short script for an iOS/Android App Live Action Ad:

Ending of some generic big corporation meeting:
{CEO}: "Okay, that's it, the meeting is over, ladies and gentlemen."

CEO heads to his office. On the way there he tells his secretary:
{CEO}: "I'll be at my office, but I'll be busy."
{Secretary}: "Understood, sir."

CEO gets into his office, sits down in his chair and pulls his iPad, launching PS2 app on it. He than says into the iPad
{CEO}: "Good day gentlemen, let's start our meeting now, shall we."

Screen freezes, an overlay pops out, saying:
L33TC0MMAND3R67
Empire: NC
Class: Light Assault
Specialisation: Continental Command, Leadership, Strategical Planning, Support, Field Operations.

{CEO}: "...I suggest sending any free black ops to hack Hvar away from VS. Support Zurvan Assault with armor, if possible. I will contact any available Air Outfits to provide air cover."

Camera moves out of his office and shows his secretary trying to overhear what's happening on the other side of the door.

She than pulls her android-based device with PS2 app already opened on it and says.
{Secretary}: "MissMystery's here, I just got a confirmation of an upcoming Hvar backhack, any available squads, please respond."

Another overlay:
MissMystery
Empire: VS
Class: Infiltrator
Specialisation: Espionage, Reconnaissance, Classified Operations.

Suddenly a man dressed as a corporate security appears out of blue and says:
{CS Guard}: "What are you doing here, lady?"
{Sercretary}: "Oh, I was just going to get myself some water from the cooler!"
{CS Guard}: "Sure, you were"

He watches as the secretary walks away.

Overlay:
Anthony Grant
Occupation: NS Industries Corporate Security Guard
Experience: 6 Years
Civil Status: Married, 2 Children

Screen unfreezes, but overlay stays, CS Guard talks with his wrist:
{Grant}: "Okay, Jimmy, I think I found the VS mole..."

Screen freezes, static morphs the text into:

TheLastGuard
Empire: TR
Class: Engineer
Specialisation: Sabotage, Defensive Duties, Technical Maintenance and Current Repairs, Vehicle Support

{Grant}: "...did you set up the camera sound recording in his office?"
{Jimmy}: "Yup, Tony, I'm getting a clear picture AND sound right now. Seems like they're going to launch a vehicle strike on us, I'm already contacting our command for countermeasures"

CS Guard walks away with a phone in his hand. Camera follws him from the side zooming in to his phone with Indar map opened on it.

Picture than transitions into a short PS2 footage of VS having an infantry fight against NC on Hvar and of a large TR vehcile force exchanging ammo with a large NC vehicle force.

PS: All names and nicknames are placeholders.

Nah, just throwing in an idea. I don't have the necessary resources... :)

Great script idea NewSith.

Firefly is this something BWC films could pull off?

Firefly is this something BWC films could pull off?
I mean... *ANY*thing is possible. This could definitely be done, even by me (amateur). I've got a Kickstarter going right now (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bwcfilms/z-com-indie-short-film) for a film so it's at the fore of my mind. Something like this would have a smaller budget (with permission) and would definitely be doable - sounds like the biggest thing would be the special effects with the overlays and graphics. If we had an all-volunteer force, could probably do it. Reason I say that is, Planetside is an established IP with all the necessary rights and reserves and trademarks. It would have to be 100$ fan-based and involve no monetary transactions. No Kickstarter, no paying actors or editors or SFX specialists.

Now I'm salivating, breaking this down...

You'd need a corporate office building, or anything that looks like a big-time fat-money enterprise.

You'd need three main characters (CEO, Secretary, Guard) and a voice-over (which is easy). You'd need five to ten background extras.

You'd need a really good effects guy, an editor, one to two cameras, and several phones as props. For wardrobe, professional secretary get-up, some suits, and some type of security arrangement: LEO belt, Motorola Brick, headset maybe, goofy cap, probably cargo pants and boots, polo shirt.

You'd probably want a prior-service/active-duty guy or LEO for the guard because bearing is everything. I'd cast a really hot chick for the secretary because boobies. And probably a distinguished looking gentleman for the CEO.

This would be the best ad of all time if it happened.

I agree. And I posted this link on the BWC forums, now a bunch of my guys are wet in the panties to do this.

However, I don't want to step on any toes so if someone else wants to do this, go for it. I can't do it until my project:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bwcfilms/z-com-indie-short-film

-is done. Further, this isn't my idea so it would be up to NewSith as to whether or not someone else uses his idea.

I'll let NewSith comment. But I'm sure he posted the idea here so he could get interest from the community to make it.

If you need some graphic support let me know what you need and I'll see if I can help.

I'm all fine for you to do this, but I'd also like to add

PS2 App
Ability to record and publish real PS2 footage

to Firefly's list.

Oh, the resource I'm talking about is the game (and app). I mean, the main part of the ad is the App itself, isn't it?

The ad itself reads like a Planetside 2 promotion. That's what I take away from it. Sure, there are a lot of shots in your script that are showcasing the PS2 app - does such an app actually exist? Or are we (notionally) inventing the app? I'm still slightly confused - you want the SFX overlays to showcase an iPhone (and Droid, come on let's not alienate those guys!) app that monitors the game and publishes real-time footage or maps and stuff?

They have an IPad app already. They showcased it at E3.

Okay. That explains why I haven't seen it - generally don't look at stuff from game conventions. That looks like something to be done in post-film editing. Effects and graphics, stuff beyond my ability. :D

I'll consider this your official blessing, then. I'll begin pre-production work once I'm done with this:

I have a few days of unadulterated free time and have decided to bump this quick-n-easy project to the top of my list. I made one major change to your script, NewSith: the CEO changed to a female, of "ethnic" persuasion. Mainly because I wanted to change it up a bit. That's the only change aside from one or two minor dialogue tweaks.

Here's some additional stuff:

CHARACTERS:
CEO: Female, Asian or Middle Eastern
Secretary: Female, white
Security Guard: Male, any ethnicity, muscular frame
"Jimmy": voice only

PROPS:
1x iPad
1x Android smartphone
1x other smartphone (maybe iPhone)
1x security guard radio/mike with belt
Industry logos for boardroom and CEO office

WARDROBE:
CEO in business attire: pants and jacket
Secretary in business attire: skirt/blouse
CorpSec Guard in uniform: cargo pants, boots, polo shirt, gear

EXTRAS:
4-6 suit-wearing corporate executives (boardroom)
2-3 office drones wearing slacks, shirts, ties (hallway scene)

NOTES:
CEO should be both female and non-Caucasian as a break from the typical norm.
Effects to be done post-filming.
Maybe add outfit tags?
Possibly have "Jimmy" as more than a voice – maybe guy in surveillance van?

Filming this tomorrow (Murphy's Law notwithstanding). Will have preliminary video and probably a lot of stills. I have a thread going on the BWC forums about what features they'd like to see in the mythical made-up PS2 iPhone app, PSU people should feel free to chime in here unless there's already another thread like it.

Will definitely need some special-effects graphics for this app, too.

Principle photography is done. I'm pretty proud of it mainly because the people in the commercial are gamers and Planetside players, not professional actors. Next step is to do the editing and the effects. I'll be posting some photographs and screenshots later today.

<3 you big time, FF...

EDIT: As for the app keying, I think using the fullscreen footage from PlanetSide 2 presentation can do.
