I sincerely enjoyed sniping in PS1 - until it became very taxing and cumbersome. Floaty controls, if the target moved even at all it was impossible (mostly) to hit them.

Limited range.

Has this been improved in PS2?

It has been improved greatly.

PS1 sniping took alot of skill and had a steep learning curve. But if you stuck with it long enough to learn its lead time, you were halfway toward being a competent sniper.

As for PS2, while i hated the BF sniping(which i assume this will be like), multiple hit boxes will make it awesome.

I love sniping in PS1. Yes, it's challenging, but things that aren't challenging are rarely fun. I'm genuinely disappointed that it won't be the same in PS2.

I love sniping in alot of other games as long as I am getting a good K/D rate while doing it. Since this is BF-like Sniping, I don't mind this at all as long as I can 1-2 shot people and not get shot back in the face.

Sniping in PS1 was about as unrealistic as it got. But it was fun in the right scenarios. Most fun when counter sniping.

Sniping in PS2 will be a much more enjoyable experience.

In PS1, if you saw an enemy's exposed foot (and only his foot) you could snipe that foot for full damage. I don't know what there isn't to love about that.

Hopefully it doesnt cause a massive influx of XxX-420n0scope-[MLG]XxXers.

Honestly, as much as I hate the mechanics of sniping in PS1 (particularly with the broken hitbox leading to ridge humping), I love the fact that it made me study how players thought, and interacted with their environments. Doing so allowed you to, more often than not, know where they were going to move after the first shot, allowing you to get the second shot.

Also... the weird tingling feeling on the back of your neck, right before you turned around and shot the air, watching a cloaker die.

That's kind of a given considering the big focus on K/D ratio in the stats. It will be like Battlefield. Bush wookies everywhere that don't really contribute anything useful. But can pad your knife kill stat with them.

I think those with the opinion that outsiders will come in to PS2 and get totally shit on are in for some surprises. Wouldn't be so bad if your attitudes weren't so elitist. I guess it'll be fine when you leave after seeing how different it is and write the game off as 'modern bullshit for cod bf3 kiddies'.

And as for the OP, yes. Sniping, just like most things, will be better in PS2.
