HELP! Confused about the buying PS1 for PS2 beta.

So I saw this deal here on the fourms before I was going to bed last night, and I said "Oh cool, ill do that tomorrow afternoon-evening." I was reading up on one of the threads about this topic, and quite a few people were saying smed and the gang are closing this TOMORROW MORNING but they posted it at 1am-2am. So did those people not check the time and they closed it this morning while I was getting ready to go to work? Or do they mean its closing Saturday morning?


PS - The "deal" I was talking about is the buy PS1 and get PS2 beta on monday.

Smed said in the QA they'd be closing the registration this morning (if it ever even was going on). He didn't seem sure about it either way.

I think he just found a way to make some easy money on the fly with some sweet words tinged with a few "maybes"

I doubt he was actively trying to milk us for some extra cash. A guy at his level doesn't have all of the exact details off the top of his head, but still he was trying to answer those questions as best he could.

But yeah, they did disclose this cutoff date/time awfully late in the game.

As far as I know PS1 beta invites are going out in this order:

PS1 Vet Active Subs > All other PS1 vets > Priority Beta Keys > Regular beta subs

PS1 Vets Active Subs = Anyone who was subscribed before they gave free time out at the beginning of July 2012.

PS1 Vets = Anyone who has ever subscribed (paid money for a sub) to Planetside before the morning of 8/3/2012


Smed did say on Reddit AMAA that all PS1 active subs are getting in on day 1 of closed beta. What I don't get is this tweet vs. what was said on the AMAA last night:

Currently subscribed means active sub. We know they'll all be first day already...Nothing new here on all lapsed vets getting in day 1 though.

There's plenty of conflicting info about this Burdman. So not exactly sure tbh. If I were you, I would purchase a sub right now. It's not that much money and you can play PS1 in the meantime anyways!

Uh oh..... You must be fairly new.

All the vets and current subscribers are getting in first. All the priority keys will be in before the general beta sign ups, but invites may take 2-4 weeks.

But you are now guaranteed into Beta!

Obviously you didn't get the smeddage that they are - even though the term "priority" is misleading - "least priority" keys... sorry man, I know, it's not fair :/
