Chapter 1: Big Problem
Outside VR Training Room
New Conglomerate Sanctuary
“Wow this place is dull” Masurao yawned.... “Huh?”
Masurao went rigid. He didn’t even need to here the announcement, he felt his weapons click off of lock mode. Masurao looked up just in time to see a Flux Missile slam into a galaxy spawn pad.
New Conglomerate troops started pouring out of building, some fully armed, some only with a Suppressor and standard armor. Then he saw something he had never seen on this planet before. What looked like a boat with a weird flat pointed front. “What’s that?” he thought. His question was answered as the ship hit the shore and the weird nose on the front of it flew open, revealing a squad of Vanu Sovereignty troops.
Masurao acted quickly, pulling out a Decimator and firing as many dumb fire rockets as he had into the approaching Vanu squad in front of him. It was enough. He ran over and grabbed a Lasher from the smoking purple armor and started firing at a Vanu Quasar MAX. An effective weapon. The MAX dropped to the ground with smoking hole in his head. Click click. “Uh oh”....
Thouk! Went the Thumper.
Masurao turned around just in time to see a Frag grenade coming right at him.... He turned around and ducked, hoping to take the blast in the rear armor. There was a rumble and an explosion, but no pain. He looked up to see a Vanguard had blocked the frag.
It wasn’t over yet. Masurao was just about to jump into the gunner’s seat of the Vanguard when he noticed a VERY large Missile heading towards him...
“OH SH.....”
The sound was defining. It was some sort of concussion bomb. The Vanguard was flipped 20 feet into the air by the shockwave, clear over Masurao’s head. Masursao lost his grip on his gun as he was thrown like a paper doll in the wind by the massive shockwave.
The world spun as Masurao hit the ground. His ears were ringing and his head was throbbing. He regained his senses in time to see the Vanguard flip back onto its right position. Masurao got up, his legs were shaky. “I got to make it to that Vanguard.” Was all he could think.
