This is really what it comes down too.
They aren't going to abandon the PC version and just start developing the console version, that makes absolutely no sense with over 2 years of dev time on the PC version. They probably have an internal team that has been working on a the Forgelight engine on the PS4 and another small internal team doing the port. Given the hardware of the PS4, if they can get the engine running smoothly it should port well.
