Crysis 3

Just got a mail, saying "Crysis 3 announced - Pre-order now!".

Thoughts?

Says trailer in 3 days... if it's not going to be a steaming pile of shit like the second one was, I'd hope it returns to its roots. I really liked the Far Cry-ish gameplay of the first one, and the multiplayer was fun.

I kind of think of Crysis and Crysis 2 as two different games. And they were good for different reasons IMHO. I personally like the Crysis 2 premise of a alien-plague-that-turns-you-into-goo ridden New York City, and the gameplay wasn't too bad. Could have helped if the PC version wasn't a console port, but it wasn't a bad game. And Crysis was good because it was a traditional special forces game(albeit with super soldier abilities), which turned into an Alien invasion(I really enjoyed the zero gravity portion )

Like I said, different games, but each one good.

I love both of them. Amazing gameplay. Crysis 2 was one of the few games I replayed. Can't wait.

Played Crysis 2 first... Last winter I bought Crysis 1 and Warhead in a steam sale... I was blown away. Much much better than the second one. Warhead on the other-hand kinda ruined the story for me because of all the plot holes... I didn't even finish it.

I really wish they would just tell me what the fuck happened to nomad.

Re: Crysis 3

Crysis 2 had great stroyline, but the product came out raw and that totally ruined the impression for me.

I mean the whole thing with "Semper Fi Or Die" level alone (which was supposed to be their best level), where the level simply won't work properly if you press any of the numpad keys (which I actively use) while playing, can be described as an utter failure.

EDIT: Also absence of DX11 mode at launch, lack of vehicles, MP NAT failures, anti-cheat software failures, lots of stuff...

Graphics look beautiful... maybe even better than Forgelight. Didn't see enough though.

I think they announced it a bit early though... late fall might have been better.

Hands down better than forgelight lol.

But can it support 1000s of players on screen at once?

When did forgelight run 1000's on screen at once ? .

Cry engine is being used for multiple mmo's , Id say it has as much chance as forgelight . Or at least theres no way anyone could say one runs large scale battle better than the other right now .

It was really just the little things that made no sense to me.

I'm really not too excited about Crysis 3.

Looks like Crysis is going down the road of Call of Duty. What a disgrace considering the legacy of Far Cry and Crysis.

I'm not the worlds biggest crysis fan in general I'm mostly looking forward to seeing how far they push the boundaries with the visuals.

Though a return to form of crysis 1 would be better I agree
