Re: AGN: Post Launch/Open Beta Feedback

DEV FEEDBACK - I’d like to see AGN provide constructive feedback to the devs. If the overwhelming majority do not like a feature or feel something could be improved or added in the game, or a weapon is over/under powered, have a discussion on it. Give reasons for & against. What we like, what we don’t like etc. We’re in a unique situation where we’ve got devs who actually listen to the community, with a great example being the change to the kill cam.

COMMUNITY RECOGNITION – The game will have people who create fan sites, youtube channels, useful tools for the game etc. Let’s get them and their content recognised and encourage them to do more.

OUTFIT/PLAYER/SERVER SPOTLIGHTS – I think this type of thing is already in motion on the main PSU site. I thought the recent article highlighting an outfit (I forget which) was great. When the game is released, I think a lot more could be added to this.

I’m not sure if it’s for AGN to get involved with, but I like the idea of “How to” guides. “How to be a better noob”... “How to play Light Assault”... You could also have general tips & tricks, base specific tactics, continent specific tactics etc. As I say I’m not too sure if AGN should get involved in this type of stuff, as I’m sure there will be plenty of youtubers doing so. Giving them a mention would be great though.

I'd like it to feel like the Jedi Council came together to discuss the current events of Planetside2 whether it is in relation to the real world, in-game, patches, or amongst the community.

If we're doing video bits from in-game might want to have a 'bug of the week' sort of thing while we're in beta.

Aside from that I'm game for everything.

For new players (including myself), I would like some tutorial about how to cert efficiently :
-What to cert to become a good anti air pilot
-How to max your tank
-etc...

And yeah i would love to see the command structure and mission system detailled.

Fight Spotlight:

10/1 there will be livestreams all over the place, some outfit fights recap would be nice. The perfect start is CDL, expanding into some outfits... Would be actually cool to have a PSU "admin" account provided by devs with free flight camera, solely for AGNs.

Also it would be cool for you to contact, what you may call, press attaches from different outfits to give you an inside info on what's happening among their ranks (who got kicked, who achieved what, gossipgossipgossip). One good step towards combining "competitive" and "persistent".

Community content spotlight would be good, show off the best community videos. Also maybe start with some outfit recruitment video at the beginning as advertisement :P

All these ideas are truly fantastic!

One thing that would be good is to have collaboration with the devs, having a part of each episode (while in beta and post release) where the community can mail ideas they have. I know this already exists to an extent with the ideavault, but if ideas were featured in each episode it would help bring the good ones to the attention of the devs, and generate community discussion of the ideas in the comments. Moreover, the episode could spotlight ideas already in the vault (Lodestar, just saying it now).

I would keep the format exactly as it is, dicussing about stuff about the game like balance issues, new content etc.
Maybe figure out how to stream via Hangout (or find a different tool), so we can back up stuff by directly showing it in game.

Hey Hamma, think you can ask Higby if there will some kind of time limit to spotting? I'm thinking maybe after you spot someone it lasts for 1 min (1 min is being generous, thats actually a long time in an FPS :P)

I dont think its fair for players to be spotted and then escape from them and 5 min later someone else finds them because they're still spotted.

Would the Community Night Format still work for you guys or would you like to see other types of content? We hope to bring back our old Ask The Devs show post launch, but what other content would you like to see?
Balancing has to be nailed first. Hence, balancing feedback from the developers. Collate all the imbalances then the Devs rummage through the list and address them.

I would love a training area like in PS1. A great way to test strategies with more controlled variables.

Orbital Sanctuary (Pre-launch)

VR Training Area (Pre-launch)

Vehicle Enter-Exit Animations (Pre-launch)

User Interface sidegrades and upgrades, such as driver/gunner picture-in-picture or limited Darklight picture-in-picture (Pre-launch)

Network Warfare / Cyberwarfare, controlling turrets, spotting lights, battling network viruses, and other things without having a physical character running around in Auraxis, possibly to control with an app on personal mobile devices as well.

More weapon modification (firing mechanism, scope zero point, different grips, different stocks, more top/side/under barrel mounts, on-board computer systems, etc)

Naval Warfare (and Swimming)

Underwater Infantry Bases

Orbital / Lunar Bases

Space Combat

Fully-transitional continent / acquatic / space travel

Basically that's like my 10 year plan for PS2.

I think you should shorten it a bit once open beta is up and running and run it to coincide with any maintenance downtime.
When there is a ton of speculation floating around re beta you can discuss shit til the cows come home.

With open beta up perhaps you can focus on the latest hot topics and have some dev input based on that. Provided they are willing to comment in a timely manner otherwise its useless info.

I think the SOE Command Centre will also steal some thunder so it will be interesting to see how regular that is run and what they discuss and the guests (devs?) they have on.

Yea they are trying to put us out of business

They wont have community discussion though which is also very important.
