If it's allowed for players to be on the same server then PS4 will enable keyboard/mouse controls identical to PC support.

Otherwise it's not even in contention and has been proven wrong before.

I speculated that Planetside 2 would come to Playstation 4 and really, with consoles becoming steadily more like PCs, it's not really surprising. A lot of my curiosity is based around what we don't know about the PS4. Will the servers be cross platform? If so, will the PS4 be compatible with keyboard and mouse? Will there be graphics settings? Will we create characters through Station or PSN? Etc.

I'm very excited for this. I hope Planetside's introduction into the console market will skyrocket its popularity.

Smed just arrived on Twitter. Currently the state is that having same servers for PC and PS4 will be... unlikely.

No real surprise there but I can see where everyone is coming from wanting the pop increase the consoles would bring. Hopefully the exposure from the consoles will generate more pop for PC side. Time will tell.

What I want to know is if my PC account can be used on PS4. If so when the new consoles come out I will get a PS4 just to play with all my console only friends. If the accounts are completely separate then I could careless about PS2 on PS4 other than the exposure and can't wait for these console players to get their minds blown by Planetside 2 when they compare it to Call of Duty or Battlefield. I used to love Battlefield for the big battles that felt like actual wars.. now after Planetside 2 Battlefield feels so small and isolated.

Was a ton of fun shooting that video. The 666th was honored to be a part of it and a huge credit to Azure Twilight and Black Widow Company for their roles. Also, all the other players involved.

That was a pretty epic fight.

Thanks for the tweets from Smed Hamma. Can't wait for the game to be optimized for AMD processors. Now finally maybe my 8 core processor will use more than 2 cores... oh and not to mention that the PS4 uses a Radeon graphics card... finally some good support for my Radeon 7970! So can't wait.

if the accounts and chars can be used on pc and ps4 alike, this will draw players from the pc version. for i suppose the ps4 version will play more stable and will be full keyboard and mouse compatible.

So does my PC station cash transfer over to Ps4?...Because I heard Ps4 SOE games don't use station cash or something like that, not sure tho.

Also does PC also have DirectX9 still or did they upgrade now?

Glad that Smedly is saying this is gonna help PC performance.

Also I heard Ps4 comes with a mic, so that is gonna be interesting.

SOE, please let me log into my account with the PlayStation 4 version of PlanetSide. Let my SC unlocks carry over to my PS4 characters. Also allow for PC players to gift items to PS4 players.

I'd almost ask for my PC characters to be able to play on a PS4 server if I am playing on a PS4.

Aye that is something I am looking forward too, the PS4 version requiring the dev team to optimize PS2 for multiple cores. Wouldn't be able to run well enough on the PS4 otherwise.
