Hey, what's all this talk about upgrading all the time. Sure, it would be nice if everyone could afford to..but on the other hand it isn't really necessary. In April I'll have had my computer for 4 years and games just came out this month that i can't play for the first time. It's lasted me quite a while but I'm finally putting ole bessie out to pasture in honor of the new year.

The moral of the story is...you don't have to upgrade unless you want to. Your graphics may suffer for it, or the speed of gameplay..but these are life choices

well then by everyone saying that halo2 is going to be old news, then planetside is already a failure? its doing nothing different at all except putting more pees on the server and not stopping the game.. whats the great big deal, everyone in here says that halo2 will do nothin, new, heheheheh planetside is going to be the same ol thing but on a little bit biggier scale, and probably lagged to death anyways. once planetside took out the rpg elements they lost there innovative ness and just became the next big FPS when they should have been the most revoulutionary game in the 2003 and beyond.sorry for replying so late but ive been on vacation.

Firstly, did you join PSU's forum just to say that in a random thread? Secondly PS is a MMOFPS totally designed for team play with different squads and outfits. It also has a large amount of vehciles and more will be coming I'm sure later. It also has objectives in territory. Halo 2 will be the same DMing or Team DM in multiplayer that we've all come to know. SOE has had experience in MMOGs for eyars. There won't be any server lag at all most likely. Comp lag will be the person's own fault and it ahs settings that can be changed.

They were 100% right to remove the rpg elements. One man's innovation is another man's jumbled mess that only detracts from the real fun of the game, which is to experience massive first person combat in a persistent setting.

I don't ahve an Xbox and a few games are on it htat I want but I don't like sports games and Splinter Cell is going to GC and PS2. The other two games I'd like to play are Steel Battalion and Halo 2 but I don't feel that I have enough reason to get a new console. I'd rather spend my money on Computer hardware.

In defense of the Xbox there are alot of great games coming out this year. First is the obvious Halo 2 which should just decimate everything like Halo did. There is also Ninja Gaiden, Panzer Dragoon Orta, which comes out in like 5 days, Soul Calibur 2, Fable, Tao Feng, Deus Ex II, SWG and Sudeki, fantasy rpg/action type game.

If you don't know about these games they're worth a look so just search for them on the net.

SWG is for PS2 also. Panzer Dragoon Orta looks like a really good game but I still don't feel the need to get one. Although I hvaen't used my PS2 in awhile and rarely for any new games at all. I ahve a GC and that has a sure great game. Zelda. Can't compare a game like that to any FPS though so it's useless to mention it, but I did anyway.

Well, I have a few things to say. Halo I didn't like. I'm not being biased in any way, I play all consoles, and all types of PC games. The fact that it had the slightest bit of auto aim pissed me off. It basically removed all skill from the game. It turned into who ever shot first and had the slightest bit of accuracy wins. Also, if you had any idea what Halo was GOING to be like, you wouldn't like Halo that much. It was going to have area specific vehicle damage, playable covenant race, drivable dropship, water vehicles, and cool weapons like flamethrowers and harpoon guns. To me it was a big dissapointment. It didn't have enough weapons, and nothing really new was added. People liked it because it was finished, it didn't have any problems, and it had good graphics. But that doesn't make a game for me. I would MUCH rather play Perfect dark 64 or halflife, they require more skill. Halo 2 could be good, but it's prolly just gonna be another game with good graphics and not really good gameplay, and will be over rated (it also seems like they are rushing it a lot).

As for PS, it looks like it will be amazing. why? Because it will actually require strategy and skill to succeed and that is what makes or breaks a game IMO. With a combination of really fun looking ground and air vehicles (THAT CAN ACTUALLY BE DESTROYED) a lot of weapons (much more than halo) and tons of people, it will just be amazing. There are different classes, all sorts of equiment and lots of stuff to try, so it won't become boring for a long time. I think it would be most fun to defend against an attack of more than 20 people, like in the traditional FPS.

PS is almost a completely different game than Halo. They're both futuristic FPS's and that's about what they have in common. PS is a massive scale game that needs alot more weapons to cater to the amount of people playing it than a game like Halo where it's just you vs a race of people. The weapons in that game were very effective so you didn't need tons of them. As for the gameplay it was very well done so I'm not sure why you'd even bitch about that. Slightest bit of auto aim? please it wasn't that noticeable you still had to be aiming at the target to hit him except with the needler gun I think...

Halo wouldn't have been as popular as it was/is if it was an average game. People are still buying the game. That's why they can still charge $50 for it in stores. Halo 2 will also have xbox live support which will give the game more options as far as multiplayer. There are going to be many new weapons added to the game from what the reviews I've read have said. Not to mention that they upped the graphics in Halo 2 and the new graphics will put games for PS2 and GC to shame.
