Editing pages

If I make a new page that is not correctly titled, how do I edit that title or do I need to delete it and start over?
If I am to delete it is that Purge?

As you can see in the above link I made an error with the date.
I couldnt work out how to change just that particular page title.
I've worked around it for the time being but would like to fix it.

Move (drop menu next to search) it to the new title without leaving a redirect.

Ok, I moved it and didnt tick anything else which I assumed was not leaving a redirect.

Bit daunting when you get this result.
Again all I did was Move the page in question.

I notice a redirect.
So I removed the #REDIRECT [[Hotfix (2013/06/14)]] from http://wiki.planetside-universe.com/...x_(2013/06/014)

I believe Purge just blanks the page, same as manually deleting all the info on the page. As I learned by trial and error, blanking a page does not delete it, It just leaves a blank page with just the title. You can flag a page for deletion using the {{Speedydelete|<Reason>}} template.

Purge clears the page cache.

Can you clarify as to what that means?

Pages are cached so that all the HTML to display them doesn't have to be generated every view. Sometimes when updating weapon stats, because the page references itself as an included template, you won't see changes until the cache is cleared and force the reevaluation the templates.

So that explains why I sometimes have to save the edit twice to get the page to update correctly. I assume then that I should be hitting Purge instead.
