I believe the Palit Jetstream's supposed to be fairly quiet, and it comes higher clocked than the Twin Frozr, too.

I wouldn't spend the extra £50-£100 personally.

From what I've seen there's like a 5% difference max between reference 680s and the OC versions, and overclocking's still limited due to the voltage being regulated by Nvidia. I'd just go for a reference version (the cheaper ones ) if you're not looking to break overclocking records or anything

What really said is true. The stock heats sink is pretty quiet and keeps the card cooled good.

No due to having a aftermarket cooler.

Re: New gaming PC, £1000 budget, need help

did you buy it ? you can return it within 14 day : it not as efficent as Havik 140 by far but it a smaller cooler the guy on gamespot with is H60 as is at 4.5ghz with 66C i as mine at 4.6Ghz with 55C

they are to release in 7 day according past schedule or maybe it just laptop ? I really don't know where i5 3570K is heading this is very strange : i knew the day i5 2500K would launch 4 month in advance and it released that day

I only mentioned the H60 due to it being a unique cooler and not being a huge chunk of metal taking up a bunch of space in the case. I wouldn't worry about switching them. It can handle full overclocks fine. From the reviews I'm checking out there isn't a massive difference between the two anyway. One shows beating the other while the next is opposite.

Anyway I hear IB is supposed to be released next week or early the week after...

oh yeah is getting a 500R I donno if my cooler fit into it really well i know it was fitting im my CM 690 but now as HAF 932 i know but most of people consider anandtech cooling review biased because several other place show much higher temp but they where testing i7 980 (six core) which is a heat oven not a I7 2600K at 4.8Ghz

well was making sure he get best temp when both cooler are about same price i could post result brb
http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/c...k-120_review/5

http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1643/6/ this one seem biased because in all other review Antec 13 Freezer pro is an Extremely awful cpu cooler per $

500R can handle it I'm sure, but regardless those HS take up a huge amount of space. My Venomous X does especially with two fans on it.

Re: New gaming PC, £1000 budget, need help

i know it take space but that not a problem to have a huge heatsink it just that you see less the motherboard unless you want that bad 12-16GB OF DDR3 but so far no video game lead to conclusion it would use the extra ram as resources unless GPU where to 3GB To 4GB By 2014 for 150-250$ Card and that monitor PPI double

like intel promise in 2013 Q3 (2560x1600 on 19 inch) and 4K HD on 30+ inch looking forward to what it bring :P might change my 4 year old monitor if i can get 1500P on 24 inch's for under 1000$ lol

if only having 12GB-16GB OF RAM actually did something like when you compare 2GB vs 4GB in games all that matter if is company will make us 3,500MHZ Memory soon for affordable price

Hey Goku,

This RAM https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...odid=MY-023-OK

It's dual channel, and PC-10366, no idea what that means but it's near the bottom of the list on ocuk site. I notice it's a lot cheaper too.

Is there a big difference?

Maybe I should get 8GB of better RAM? Rather than 16gb of this, don't mind spending a bit more if big improvement..

Thats what I linked to you originally to get. Did you just get 16GB of it vs 8GB?

I am hearing now Ivy Bridge will be out as early as the 23rd (Monday) and the latest the 28th/29th. Depends I the shop I guess.
