So they did change the Striker so that you have to remain locked on to hit your target?
Haven't used it much since it was changed.

Yep. As soon as you let go the RMB, all your rockets are wasted.
Well, they're wasted even if enemy goes past antenna or a tree branch or a rock for a fraction of a second...

Re: The Oracle of Death

I wonder how much Striker stats will drop when people realize what they can either do more damage with "dedicated" launchers, or just be more effective with Annihilator.
Current version of a Striker really got nothing to offer over the existing lockons.

I don't know, seems like it more or less corrisponds to the data early in the thread. Except for a bit of a drop in the Striker's kpu. We might see a bigger drop in the coming days. Looking forward to seeing a larger sample size, Maradine

Code:
Striker
2205 unique killers
6641 kills
3.01kpu

Phoenix
908 unique killers
3810 kills
4.20kpu

Lancer
681 unique killers
1757 kills
2.58kpu

It may be too early to draw conclusions.

e.g. me:
1. today I killed my first aircraft since the nerf which occurred only after realising that I had to keep it in the sights all the time. Having done that I should do better from now on.
2. Even after having said that I am considering switching to Annihlator, or at least trying it.

So, if I am typical those stats could change in either direction.

Yeah, I wouldn't get too excited until I run an equivalent 125 hour set to the last big analysis - that will let you do apples-to-apples on the actual scalar of the KPU. In and amongst themselves, however, you'll note that the launcher orders for before and after are very similar except for the Striker.

Anyway, back to work!

Thanks for your work.

Is it possible to get the number of uniques per BR-quartile? And another thing I'm interested in is the median KPU per BR-quartile.

Yes, is the short answer, though I need to be careful about adding more load to the aggregator. At best, it will add trivial linear load to the bracketing queries. At worst, it will double the subqueries necessary per weapon id. I'll see what I can come up with.

I'd recommend you run the Grounder instead. Does 300dmg more than the annihilator and can be dumb fired against ground targets.

Don't bother, that is useless. BR means nothing, especially with all the alts going around.

Re: The Oracle of Death

From that POV, the current average KPU-Quartiles mean jack shit as well.

In the end I want to see performance distribution. Especially when there are huge differences between factions. Is it because everyone is using it more or are there just two or three crazy players that use one weapon exclusively and skew the numbers (I remember the NC MAX weapons where one guy had like 1/3 of all kills). It might be true that it evens out in the future when enough data is collected. But that's not the present.

I'd really like KPU histograms but that'd be too much to ask i guess.

BR is currently a very good statistical predictor of kill performance despite alt pollution. I buy the argument that eventually it will not be, but that's not the PS2 we're in at the moment.

Doubt that, as the latest "fix" has returned the Striker to its former potency. Not only that, but it has more or less broken the relationship between flares and lockons in general (read:lockons now ignore flares pretty consistently). Given that the Striker is still the king of all lock-ons, I'd venture to guess people are going to be abusing the shit out of this til they fix it.
