First pc build need some advice

Hello getting a new pc together for ps2 and all my daily computing needs. Like the title says its my first build so id apreciate any feedback or let me if something is not correct or missing.

Budget: including a new monitor and os about 1400 off newegg.com
Location: chicago IL

Parts-
Case: raidmac smibdon atx g12wb
Motherboard: biostar tz68k
Processor: intel i7 sandybridge 3.4ghz
Harddrive: western digital internal sata 6.0 500gb
Memory: g.skill rip jaws 12gb 3x4gb
Power: ocz 750w atx 12v 2.2
Video: EVGA superclocked gtx 570 fermi

Parts reusing: cd/dvd drive

Monitor: 23" 1920x1080 hdmi

Os: win7 64 bit

I believe the gpu is overclocked otherwise no plans to overclock

I want to buy it all at once

My biggest question is that is a 750 watt power supply nessary? Abd do you think I should take further steps to keep the syten cooler?

No need for 12 gigs of ram. Go for 8, which is more than enough for gaming. You only need 4 for any game currently leaving you with 4 for whatever else you're doing in the background. Also, go for a better motherboard from Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, or ASRock. I recommend the ASRock Extreme3 Gen3, good price for good features. You won't need 750W, so I'd say go down to 600.

The other thing is that your motherboard has 4 Ram slots and you always want to fill them in pairs. So go with 2x or 4x modules. Not 3x.
I'd go with 2x4gb DDR3 1600. That way you can add two more sticks later if you want.

Speaking of that, what happened to 6x slot triple-channel motherboards that we were seeing on the early i7s?

And also on RAM...I lower latency is best, but I've noticed that you can get 1.65, 1.5 and 1.35 volt ram these days, I assume lower voltage @ lower CAS is better?

This is what I came up with. No idea what monitor you were looking at so I settled around $1200.

Corsair Carbide Series 500R Case - $129.99
Seagate SV35 Series ST3500411SV 500GB - $74.99
MSI R7950-2PMD3GD5/OC Radeon HD 7950 - $409.99
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 600W PSU - $89.99
G.SKILL Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 - $37.99
MSI Z77A-G43 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 - $119.99
Intel Core i5-2500K - $219.99
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - $99.99

Total = $1,182.92 not including CC, MIR, or monitor

Given your budget I recommend either going for the 7950 or jumping up to the GTX 680 or 7970. We can trim a few components here to open up the budget to allow this to happen I think. What monitor were you looking at getting?

CC is coupon code or promotions currently going on at Newegg.

I always see people saying good stuff about this ASUS monitor.

My guess on Windows you were probably looking at the Professional version. The Home Premium is perfect for 99% of the users out there.

Do you have any preference on the video card maker? If not I would just stick with the 7950 as that will be plenty of horse power for 1920x1080 for years to come.

When are you planning on ordering this in full?

With a monitor I wouldn't buy refurbished and I'd go with LED back-lighting in your budget range.

Basically anything toward the top here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...eId=1&name=Yes
Certainly want 1080p resolution or greater too.

I've got an Asus 23 inch LED and I love it.

Ok well I will go through this again and see what else I can do. I'll swing for around $1100ish on the build with that ASUS monitor?
