Bad sign or fluke

Today (patch day) everything seemed to be running fine. Later in the night, though, the login servers went down and about 1/3 of our online outfit members were dropped from the game (12am pst'ish). Since they couldnt get back in, they had to call it a night.

Shortly after that, the squad and outfit chat wouldnt work. Everyone else on our voice server (4 now) said it wouldnt work for them either. About the same time the map and global map stopped refreshing. As an example, we were on Forseral and Caer was neutral when the map stopped working, and it stayed neutral even after the NC captured it.

The kicker --

I was at the Caer CC with a Pounder MAX in front of me. Its one of those tiny underground CC rooms with 2 entrances. The MAX was achored near the CC, and i was inbetween it and the terminal, being its pet engineer. About 6 NC tried to come in at random times, from standard armor to reinforced, but all of them were chewed up in seconds. Then, a reinforced NC with a Jackhammer comes into the room (and the MAX is firing like crazy), stands toe-to-toe with the MAX, and stands there.

The MAX slowly died from its own splash damage from hitting a soldier standing point-blank, and i pulled out my Sweeper Shotgun, thinking the NC must be at 1 or 2 health after that. I hit him 4 times with the Sweeper, point blank, before i died. A MAX would have died from that, yet a reinforced was still standing.

Then one of the people on our voice server said there were a couple TR guys running around saying that they couldnt be hurt by weapons fire.

Yup, typical behavior of the servers shortly before they go tits up. I was on Forseral and we had much of the same problems. Most of us just called it a night.
