I was thinking about all the tactics I've seen people use in the game and I've come to the conclusion that most people sort of get stuck in a rut once they get a routine going or find something that works.
As an example. A guy in a Pounder MAX was taking out spawn tubes every time he came into one of our bases. After confronting the guy several times and witnessing what he was doing I started hiding in the room next to the spawn room. I'd wait for him to arrive and clamp down. As soon as he started shooting the tubes I'd run out and put two Decimator rounds to his backside. Repair the tubes and then wait again in the back room. He kept doing this and not once checked the back room. I mean come on, you'd think he'd learn after 3 or 4 times. I'm just as guilty of following a routine occasionally, but some people just don't seem to learn from their mistakes. Instead of bitching about always dying, try and figure out why it's happening and change your routine. Otherwise, myself and others will take advantage of your predictability and use it against you. |

LOL. I know what you mean. I tried out the sniper cert a few days ago and ran into one of those types. He/she was on a hill ( I forget what contintent and base), and he/she firing decimator rounds at the vehicles coming out of the vehicle pad. I rolled up on my Basilisk and saw him/her off in the distance. I took cover and sniped him/her. About 1 min later he/she was back up there doing the same thing. I had to laugh as the second time I sniped him/her. When he/she was back up on that hill in such a quick turn-around, I suspected he must have an AMS near by. I trekked over there and, sure enough, I was about to take him out a 3rd time and a friendly reaver beat me to the punch. The reaver took out the AMS and him/her. I am curious how many times he/she would have kept doing this if I didn't investigate and just kept sniping?
Anyhow, people like that do indeed make for an easy kill.

can enemies read your /L macros?
I get into "ruts" a lot. it gets boring. I'm usually hot dropping on a tower solo or with outfit mates. I know I can take upwards of a squad solo. it is amazing that after so many months of play there are so few challenging individuals let alone squads. |

I really only follow routines when there is an inctricate strategy to follow along. Most of the time you can find me defend/attacking choke poins in and around bases.
Well I guess I am guilty of a battle routine, because when ever I fight outside I either push back troops with my rocklet/thumper, or surge strafe around large troop formations with my Jackhammer .

yea. sometimes routines are really instincts, I guess.
like, when running down a stair and u encounter a max and 5 infantry. my "routine" is to kill as many as I can and remain alive while my "instinct" provides the means to see that my routine doesn't fail. or something |

Earlier today on Oshur I went and parked my AMS at the backdoor of a base as is my standard procedure. I then usually proceed to go into the spawn room, get me boomer gear and blow the tubes before friendlys get here and hack it. But this time I was late and some people were already fighting so I run to the backdoor. I encounter several mines but walk past them all until I see the one right infront of the door. I ran up real fast and back real fast so that it would blow but I wouldn't die cuz I didn't have a jammer. After that I went into the door and promptly got boomered. And as I was respawning I heard the sound of more mines/boomers being laid so I quickly changed my attack plan. I respawned and ran through the front door with surge on and got to the backdoor hallway where the guy was camping with his detno in hand. Then I saw the other guy, thats right 2 easy kills. They were in the cubbies in the hall each occupying one, right across from the other. So I laid a boomer right inbetween them and sure enough the looked straight at it and got a little closer. BOOM and they were both dead. I /telled him "paybacks a bitch" and moved on. Heh just a little infil fun I had today.

Nothing pleases me more than killing snipers who stay in the same spot after shooting or killing me

i was palying today and i was in a squad with like 8 maxes including me, and about 4 of us were in spawn room killing anyone that spawned, while hack was going. so were in the tubes so no one can get out. and we keep killing this VS idilots. and they keep respawning at same base. i was like wtf there are some dumbasses that play ps.
i know this has no relation to the thread nad it might not make sense.

Sigh yea enemies can read your /L I think if your close enough.
Or at least hear the voice ones. Other day I was at a tower with my infil char and was waiting for a group of NC to run out so I could run in, all of a sudden I hear.. "Don't worry, you'll get better with time" and bang bang bang a JH to the back. I /t him that he got the award for the best pre-kill taunt of the day

I used to be an infil. Every few days, in a fight against the vanu, I'd scout around, and pinpoint all the enemy snipers. I'd then go around the high cliff walls and kill them. again and again and again. It was kind of funny, because I eventually found out that all the snipers came from the same AMS. When I found it, well, I let my Vanguard do the talking.
