As with martyr/Triggar, I'm signing off formally. I might actually be able to use the computer in the near future pre-hurricane, but it will be hectic and I'm not sure if I'll have any free time at all.
I'm under the "Aztec's Parents Hurricane Survival Plan" which means fuck the house, your dad works in Palm Springs Hospital and you get to room there. Insurance will pay for everything. Yeah, right. Miami will most probably not be hit directly by the eye of the hurricane (most powerful part) because Miiami is at the Far SE part of the penninsula. However, the thing is fucking huge, about as large a Florida itself, which means we will be brushed rather severely. I like how they say that, brushed. It's like getting "brushed" by a Lasher orb, or a venomous snake. Winds in the eye are at around 140 MPH, which rates it Category 4 out of 5, 5 being most severe. Home Depot has effectively run out of plywood, and hurricane shutters have to be custom-made. Our only recourse is taping the windows, which just makes the glass shatter and fly through the air in one long chain. There's a palm tree right outside my room that, according to my mom, is not too stable. I am guessing it will fall away from the house, but if it doesn't, guess whos room gets bisected? However, winds are not my main problem: flooding is. I live in a very flood-prone area. During a severe thunderstorm the backyard floods around half-an-inch. A large amount of rain is simply catastrophic, we could have water at least a foot in the house, easy. I'm moving the PC up onto the highest place possible. I just got this badass PC (Athlon AMD 3000+, Radeon 9800 PRO, etc.) and I don't want any hurricane screwing it over. If the house isn't a set of toothpicks after the hurricane (which won't happen unless it slams directly into Miami, remember that the Lasher orb isn't hitting us, *just LASHING us.*), or the roof isn't blown off, I could be without power for several weeks. We do have a generator, but I doubt I'll be using it, it's for emergencies. The main threat post-hurricane is looting. I don't live in the 'hoods, but if there is a riot or something, we are exceptionally well armed. As in full-auto assault rifles. I doubt Homie G will attempt to pilfer our silverware or television set. Again, I may not be gone right now, but this is a pre-emptive good-bye. I'll be calling someone (either Squeeky or Triggar) to give a post-hurricane report. With any luck it will miss land all together. Hurricane Floyd was A LOT like this one. And it just completely turned around for no apparent reason. Signing off. Aztec.

The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly. |
