Fallout 3

Absolutely worth it. Best game I've ever played, hands down. No comparison.

This game has an incredible engine, graphics are fantastic, amazing detail and atmosphere - it's also incredibly violent and yet requires you to fight smart. The game may be on the same engine Oblivion was made in but it's an entirely different game and doesn't feel at all like it - Bethesda has outdone themselves with this game. I haven't stopped playing it since I got it.

This game makes me laugh, makes me cringe, makes me shit my pants, AND satisfies any bloodlust. V.A.T.S. is integrated perfectly - I can cripple an enemy's leg, then knock his weapon out of his hand if I'm lucky. Alternately I can get in close and just unload on him with anything I might want.

I recommend it to anybody that wants to play a game. I also recommend it to anybody who doesn't want to play a game. Been playing about 2-3 days now, all day, everyday, and I can't stop.

Just wanted to inform you all of this wonder.

You have to mod it to kill children though.

I haven't tried killing children yet... I might start soon thought. I'm evil in my game and I'm about to destroy megaton... figure I might as well kill people I don't want around and there's a couple of kids around the town. That being said, it's a good game... makes me feel good inside because it's kinda like the old fallouts... combat does remind me a bit too much of oblivion though...

You're retarded if you destroy megaton it's a great resource.

I don't quite see how combat could remind you of oblivion, unless you're doing melee.
VATS and guns make that part entirely different.
Everything else - gameplay wise - is the very close to oblivion.

I blew it up. Believe me, not retarded at all. It gives you some great alternate stuff. But I'm playing evil... I'm guessing you're not?

Guns don't make it much more different... Vats changes the pace a bit but the Guns.... kite the crap your shooting and fire :P

Re: Fallout 3

I wanted to see the kickass explosion, so I blew up Megaton.

Spoilers ahead..

When I got over to Tenpenny Tower, I found out about my new suite, and how I could upgrade it. I was originally going to buy everything, but I needed money. So, being the good/evil character I am, I stole all the money from the person that sells the items. Little did I know, stealing all of her stuff apparently pisses her off and she leaves Tenpenny. Now, Megaton is blown up, and I can't buy upgrades

I'm already too far into the game to restart so unfortunately I have to deal with it.

Re: Fallout 3

Alright... so I'm on my second run of the game...

My BIG dissapointement.... how the endings were short-changed. Back in the old fallout days.... you knew what your actions had done to the wasteland by different voice-overs by Ron Pearlman.... in this new version of them game... he gives you a general feeling of what exactly happened after you made your choices but that's pretty much it. Of course they give you a slideshow that gives you a general idea of what the hell happened...

The questions remains: WTF happened to ME? I ended the game pure evil.... all Ron pearlman says is that I'm an evil son of a bitch that killed alot of people and made his father mad and evil people REALLY happy.

Come to think of it... it might be because of the way I chose to end it that I was given such a crappy ending.

I'll have to finish the game with my neutral character and see where it goes from there.

I have decided that I am going to finish Fable II, and then finish up Mirror's Edge, and then get Fallout 3. I don't like to buy too many games at once, because then the majority of them just won't get played.

As much as I hear about this game, I wasn't going to get it, mainly because I didn't want to spend the money, but now since I won $500 last night, I think I might pick it up.

It's fun honestly... it's just if you're a die-hard old school fallout fan, you'll hate some of the things they did.

I was not a die hard fan so I'm sure I won't be bothered by it.
