Update: That free 30 day thing isn't still going on is it? If not then I did get a month as soon as I agreed to a sub plan on SOE site. Probably just cancel the sub before then.

They created a priority queue system for bringing in Beta players, it so happens that the top level priority is PS1 ACTIVE sub, and that you can get one RIGHT NOW.

It's circumstantial, not some fund raising scheme.... otherwise instead of blasting twitter to hand out free keys they'd be posting to the public how to "buy" beta access.... they didn't they just answered an honest question.

The priority system is automated, we were told before the first beta even started that it goes:

active sub -> anytime sub(vets)->priority keys > everything else

They don't sit at a computer picking out names one at a time. They just follow the order, it can't get any more black and white as that.

The only reason they say "before the next round of emails go out", is not because they are re-including active subs, its because if you subscribe just AFTER emails go out, you wont get in, even tho they say actives get in.

You would have to wait for the wave after it.


They've changed nothing, its simply everyone's perception on how they wanted it to work that doesn't add up (wanting only active subs from before first beta to have priority).


Also, remember, even if your a vet, you have to sign your account up on the PS2 website to get an invite. This prevents them from sending invites to people who aren't expecting/lost accounts. So if you haven't gotten an invite, that is something you might want to make sure you did.

I don't know about you folks. I played PS1 back in the old days and loved it. A couple of months ago when I heard about PS2 coming out I signed back up for PS1. I have been having a great time. It brings back memories of the old days. I'm getting Station Cash and I can get my Planetside fix when I want it. Even if you get in the beta the servers won't be up all the time. Pony up the cash for a couple of months, have a great time and enjoy the ride.

Don't buy a ps1 sub for ps2 beta access, buy a ps1 sub, so you can play ps1 until beta comes out, and you might get a ps2 beta access earlier. I was on the fence of buying a ps1 sub again for months, finally decided to just do it and I don't regret it at all. ps1 is still as fun as you remember.

SOE is a business and the game being free to play they're exploiting every opportunity out there.

Still, handing out beta for people who subscribe to PS1 is fair. Compare and contrast with EA telling us gamers the only way to get into BF4 beta is to buy Medal of Honor.

So yeah, my argument boils down to "At least they're not EA"

(according to J_Smedley's twitter) Apparently as long as you are subscribed by monday the 20th which is the monday coming up you will be in the "Inactive vet" wave..... so basically it seems that with every wave coming... if you activate your planetside 1 account.. you get in on the next wave "WHENEVER THAT IS" he only stated that monday the 20th is the cutoff... NOT THE NEXT WAVE... but he has been hinting at another wave soon after the 20th.... and well.. him saying the 20th is the cutoff was for the next wave is a big hint to it coming next week

Anyway... i resub'd 2 days ago and my friend wanted to try the 1st one before playing the 2nd so.... he picked it up too... now that we are hearing this we are pretty pumped to help them fix this monster of a game up.... ive always loved real beta tests and fondly remember games where i would attempt to get stuck or break the game and see what needs fixing

ALSO IM SO GLAD THEY FOUND THAT NVIDIA BUG.. squash that thing real quick please lol
