help with planetside tech prob

i've just installed planet side and patched it but when i click play a error message comes up saying : The D3D8.DLL file is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL:UnlockCB.
and doesn't let me play and it's realy gettin me down as it's my first day with the game so
i was wondering if anyone would be so kind to help me with this. any help will be gratefully taken. thx

Both of those .dll files are associated with driectX. Go to Microsoft.com/directx (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx) and get the latest version of Direct X that's available. See if that helps.
