I clicked on my PlanetSide logo, it installed a bunch of new stuff, as in menu background, and it won't let me play- I'm not subscribed.

The background changed to Core Combat's. Is it trying to get me into Core Combat's beta?

no thats just a new launchpad skin , 1. log in with your old account , 2. download patches and login i think thats how it works.

Its not just for old 7 day trialers i dont think-
For a limited time, we are reactivating closed accounts of previous subscribers that are in good standing for a free 7-day Auraxis reunion. Tell your comrades in battle to just log into their old accounts anytime from now until October 25, 2003

Maybe its just not in effect atm

ya i haven't been notified of having to renew even sence my original 1 month trial was up, i only paid for one month, perhaps they jsut automativcaly charge the credit card after that, but i think my mom would be asking me to pay her back if it did.

If you can't stand lag on an online game (which is mostly a prerequisite), then you're right... you shouldn't play the game.

Personally, though, I think it's a great idea. There have been various hiccups along the way with balancing the factions, but the game is a lot different, and a lot more fun since it was released. And with the upcoming expansion pack arriving in 9 days, I can't wait to see what new challenges it makes.

I took them up on the offer. I played the first few months and left due to lag/crashes and balance issues.

It is much better now. Still some lag/crashes but that happens. Facility benefits, platoon stuff, Vanu balancing-- all good stuff.

I still need to upgrade my Geforce 3 card though :(

I may renew my account once it expires, not sure yet. Having fun though 8)

Yes, push escape, click on game options. Should be a dropdown right there you can set your bandwidth in

Now that I have 1g ram and a ATI 9700 I never lag/crash.

I'm not going to try the game again. They've added content, but not enough IMO. I usually wait for 6 months at least after quitting an MMO to give it another go... at which time I don't mind paying for another month.

Well they are giving it to you for free....I would play now if your planning on trying it later. The Game is almost completely different from release and much better and a lot more fun IMO.

Well it worked for me. I'm having a great time, big thumbs up for the recent balancing and facility link benefits-- both are pretty damn cool.

They seem to have done some optimizations as well as I can fight ok with my Geforce 3 AMD 1900xp now... hooorray!

I'm back for a few months at least, till I get bored 8)

How much are they charging for that expansion thingie?
