I was trying out SP:PT on PC today, the multiplayer tutorials are enjoyable and actually playable. When I decided to give single player a go, it was unbearable. I moved really, really slowly. Changing my resolution to 800x600, there was no change. I have the latest graphics drivers but have forgotten what company manufactured the sound card. I've decided that if I can't improve it by a long way, I may sell it and buy the Xbox version. Here are my dxdiag details.

Oh right, the help... hmm... I should probably wait until you post the DxDiag details now shouldn't I...

I'm such a forum whore...

Hehe, I just realised it's going to take too long to break up the 37000+ characters in my dxdiag report. But here's a basic analysis of my system.

Windows 2000 Professional Edition
Intel Celeron 1.70GHz
512MB SDRAM
GeForce FX 5200 128MB (latest drivers)

I've been able to run everything else without any loss in framerates. This is really frustrating for me now.

hmm well, it could be the SDRAM (you really need DDR dude) combined with your Celeron 1.7 Ghz CPU. Those kinda reek. Celerons are bad enough as is, and that ones definately behind in the mhz department as well. The GeForce isn't too bad, but the RAM and CPU are probably what is holding you back.

The recommended is a 1.8GHz processor. But I've made a decision already. I don't want to go spending hundreds of dollars which I don't have. I'll be better off with the Xbox version.

meh

Hey i'm selling a 2.4ghz Celleron very soon(The one down in my sig!, i'll sell it for 60 plus shiping) download a program called CPU z and if you have a pga 478 socket Cellron you can upgrade to this. That will help.

New ram will help too. and turning the graphics settings down, SC:PT uses some DX9 effects and teh 5200 isn't realy a dx9 part
