other then that, drive by's are fun and the actual story line is pretty sweet.

I'm in San Fierro as well. I finished the driving school and shooting down the toy planes. I had to run off, so I left my game going and turned off the tv. Came back and my dad had turned off the PS2. I just spent the past 2 hours getting back to that point, as my save spot was the beginning of the robbery missions with Catalina.

The storyline of this game is much more engaging for some reason. I suppose since in GTA III, your character didn't talk, (btw he makes a cameo in this game), he wasn't very interesting. And Vice City, for some reason, just didn't immerse me much. This game however has me wanting to do missions before any side missions, simply for the cinemas and storyline.

So, why is this game better? You can eat candy bars, get fat, ride a bike, flash gang signs, and "pimp out your ride"? Is that it?

BTW GTA:VC was VERY immersive for me as I live there.

I think a large impact on it is its RPG esque components that are new to this game. For instance, you have meters for things like muscle, fat, driving skill, weapon skill. All of these you can level up and gain small abilities/ improve abilities. Then there are the side things like playing basketball, more racing, etc. And of course the actual city is probably 3 times the size of vice and liberty. Also the missions seem more diverse. And as I said before, the storyline is great.

One of the reasons that the game is so impressive is because of the technology that powers it. No longer restricted to just a single city, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is huge: almost six times the size of Vice City and even more so than GTA3.

Making money is much easier in this game IMO. For one, you don't need it that much. I get all my weapons from gang members and carry overs from missions. Here's my status and what I've done to achieve it:
I have 115k, plus the RC shop I purchased for 30k and a safehouse for 20k. I'm in San Fierro (currently have Woozie and my garage as contacts, just finished a mission for Tempenny involving following a train then sniping two dudes). I currently have an AK-47 with hardly any ammo, an uzi with light ammo, a pistol with decent ammo, a loaded sniper rifle and a bazooka. All of these were obtained from missions, as I was wasted when I had my last arsenal. I am yet to buy any weapons.

Anyway, the trucker missions are great for making a lot of money relatively quick (you'll need to finish the trucker mission for Catalina first). Also do the bloodring and 8 track missions for 20k. It's also a good idea, if you haven't gotten kicked from Los Santos yet, to get in some turf wars. Not only do you gain a decent sum from killing enemies, but you get lots of AK-47's (IMO the best gun in the game), lots of uzis, and you generate revenue at your home. And once you get to the missions for Zero, you gain a lot from those, as well as a 5k revenue from his shop. But like I said, unless you are kinda desperate, I wouldn't bother buying guns. Then again, I keep Carl alive a long time, so I economize. And no, I haven't used any cheats.

But at least most Xbox users aren't biased. I have no doubt that SA will have sales into the millions and even I'm going to buy it, but frankly a story like Halo 2's is what makes a game good.

I've made it to Las Venturas the second day I had it(Got it the day it came out.) Why I haven't been posting:D. This game rocks!

EDIT:: Didn't know Darksim already posted about this. I'll leave it for future reference anyways. It is not cheating however. It is in the game for a reason. It IS cheating if you save the game and just reload until you win.

If you want some $$$ to customize cars go to the Horse Betting Shop(Check your map that came with the game.) If you are a good gambler you will know how to do it, but bet about 1/20th of your money on the 12/1 or 11/1 horse over and over. Eventually you will win and gain much more than you lost in the first place. Keep doing this until you can up your bets more. Its a pyramid thing and you soon start to rack in the cash. I've seen people get up to 44mil by doing this(waste of time) but I only do it when I need cash desperately(ALWAYS because I love customizing cars in San Fierro at Angel Arch:D.

Yeah in San Fierro you get TransFender Auto Shop unlocked. You can modify middle-class cars there. Then you unlock Angel Arch Auto Shop a little later where you can mod high-end cars with special racing parts. That is where the pic above is from. Very very nice cars are pumped out of that one. Tons of options as well.
