There is a new Producer Letter up on the official site, it goes into a bit of detail on the recent beta testing! We'll continue to add people to the tests until we reach the watersheds of 1) a fully saturated continent (somewhere between 500-1000 people on a single continent) and 2) a fully saturated world (somewhere around 5000 people on a single server at the same time.
