What Faction and why

With all the new stuff being added a thought did come across my mind.

What Faction will you be this time around and why?


Will you stick with your old one from Planetside OR try something new?

for me Vanu will be my faction of choice as always why as I like the Vanu tech from the past battles the AV Cert for example wasn't either camera guided or lock on but acutaly had to aim with the thing rather than locking on and hope the other person dont move out of the way was perfect for getting the jump on things.

Not to say that the following guns will be in Planetside 2 who knows they may be brand new ones time will tell and I may even change my mind but so far Vanu for me. :groovy:

This is becoming the great discussion in the CDL. We have our diehard Terran Republic troops, but there is an ever-growing murmur about exploring another faction.

I am curious where this will take us and if the Officers of the CDL will find themselves having to make the call soon.

NC always played NC and always will play it as my main faction. I simply love the Vanguard. Being a avid tank driver and gunner. :)

Next, he talked about servers and populations. Planetside 2 will have multiple servers, in order to support the size of the playerbase on the world map. He also said they don't want players to be able to create characters from different factions and be able to listen in on the enemy. Players will be able to play multiple factions, but they'll have to do it on separate servers.

That's the description of PS2's NC. Pirates aside, the Black Knights are made up of similar types of people.

I think like everyone which faction to choose is always a big bone of contention for guilds, Pax Imperius was Terran Republic originally and as you know I'm still a staunch supporter of the Red Regime ;)
I just love how the TR roll

However i'm sure there will be sub chapters to cater for both the other two factions as plenty of Paxians slunk off to put on the Purple or Blue of the enemy, heck even I've done it.......

Honestly, this time i will do my research. Alot during beta of course. I loved the TR and of course played them the most by far, but with hindsight being 20/20 i woulda gone VS. Better AV, better tanks, better BFR's, better MA, better manpower allotment on vehicles, and better useable strats in the fights of PS1. I actually play them much mroe than i do my TR toons now.

PS2 tho will be all new so i have no idea until i play it. Could be anyone. It will come down to which can provide the best options and tactics for me and my squads/outfit.

I honestly still don't know. I love my NC, and the gauss rifle looked really hot in the trailer. However, that VS Max looks so damn cool, and VS Maxes were my first love in the game....I don't know. I'll probably have to sleep with all the hoes a few times before I pick my bottom bitch.

TR because the world map is always covered in red(which indicate we do an awesome job of kicking ass :p). Also, the MCG floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. As others mentioned the colors are wicked.

I love the Vanu for the simple fact that it's a sci-fi game we're playing and they are the only Sci-fi faction.

I do not love that once I choose Vanu, I cannot pick anything else on that server. It was confirmed that you can only pick one faction-per-server. Which I don't like, but with it being a new game and all, having to swap characters to keep the factions evenly numbered will probably be a thing of the past.

Also, purple is the color of royalty.

Also, the concept art for the Vanu MAX looks badass.

I played NC and was very happy with the provided tools, although I always was envious about the TR machine guns or the powerfull weapons of VS.

VS was a very hard and scary enemy.

But playing NC has another big advantages.
From other games Im used that the enemy is Redish. Fighting against Blue is unusally.
When I tryed TR a bit I always ended up shooting my teammates because of the red color.
No Problem with NC, you always fight against redish (red/pink).

My core is VS, but if I can't play NC and TR I'm going to be pretty disappointed. I assume there will be at least 3 servers operating at launch.

NC all day everyday, simply because I have played TR and VS (Which i really enjoyed as the MCG was awesome, and VS they just didn't feel right) I just find that when playing the NC the community is more friendly and a lot more organized, also very chatty. But when playing the other factions I felt isolated mostly with VS though.

My friends are probably going NC again. Suits me fine, Vanguards are a beast and I loved the gauss just a little more than the cycler. In beta for PS1, I was Terran, though, and I never quite warmed up to the NC MAXes afterwards... Nothing provides that little burst of satisfaction like locking down and declaring this square yard of Auraxis yours and challenging the world to demonstrate otherwise.

I never did like Vanu, though.

Pretty sure I'll be going back to TR since I spent the majority of my time playing it before. But I have friends across all 3 empires, so it may depend on who exactly is coming back and in what fashion they intend to play. I don't intend on playing a hotdropper, quick reaction force type of play style anymore.

So if all my friends go in one direction on TR, but my NC or VS friends go in a direction I'm more into...then who knows, I may be a free agent...

I am however leaning towards the TR.
I love the sheer speed of the TR weapons. The fun memories being AI MAX in a tight corridoor. Another max to my right. Both digging in, firing dual crazy chain guns down at the fools trying to enter ;)
The only thing missing from that, was my character, or the guy's next to me screaming "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" as we kept firing! Would have made it a perfect moment lol ;)

So either TR, NC or VS. I did dabble with the VS and found them enjoyable too ;)

Before PlantSide got released I was considering joining TR or NC. I only had there lore/background description to go with at that time that I liked.

When I first started playing the game (Beta/Release don't recall?) VS was a good 10% lower in population, compared to TR and NC. I picked the underdog expecting to have mot to shoot at and I never looked back or played an other empire.

I've now grown to like VS so I'm pretty sure I'll go VS again, but who knows I might pick the underdog again.
