People who have had "active" beta accounts for months now are still not able to play? Has Higby given people a time frame?

Active just means you have applied a beta key to the account.

Active just means you have applied a beta key to the account.

Which means we are let in to the beta.... but is there no time frame on when we can start to play? It seems a little ridiculous..

It does not mean you have been let into the beta. It means you are eligible for the beta whenever your time comes.

I am no veteran to beta tests, but I am 100% sure that every beta I have ever tested meant that if you get a beta key, you are in the beta. Maybe I am just crazy though for thinking that.

Active PS1 subscribers get in on/after the 20th.

Inactive PS1 subscribers after that.

Priority Keys after that.

Everybody else after that.

What about Blizzard giving thousands of beta keys away every year at BlizzCon for betas that haven't even started?

MOST Active subscribers are already in

Remaining (or new to activate or active and new to register for beta) Subscribers & (hopefully all) Inactive subscribers get in on 20th.

Priority Keys after that.

Everybody else.

Fixes in red.

Well to make a long story short. The beta is delayed. SOE probably want to start with the beta months ago. Therefore, a lot of beta keys are already out there. Nevertheless, these keys are not active yet.

Sorry RoninOni, you are wrong on this. Smedley himself said on twitter:

they were sent out hours ago. if you don't have it now you likely aren't a current PS1 sub.

and

all ps1 current subs are invited. Vets who aren't subscribed aren't in yet. Not sure when yet. We have work to do

They were passing out keys for months not cause they expected the beta to drop in a couple weeks....

but because they need to have THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of players on standby when they get to that level of capacity.

EXCEPT that you missed 1 point.

I specifically highlighted the 2 things that would have made an active vet not get invited in wave 1

Either they weren't active at the moment the invites were sent out. Or they hadn't registered their account for beta (regardless how long they've been active)

This is a fact, and those who activate their account or who were active but forgot to sign up for beta and do that, will be counted as active vets for the next wave.

Haha, watch this:

Take a careful look at the date.
And now tell me once again that the beta isn't delayed for months. Or even years

Maybe you should look at any stickied thread, search, or read any one of the 8,234,000 other threads with people that refuse to do so.
