You have to buy one month of IGN/prime but I think its worth it as its only $7 or so :)


Or it appears you could wait a few days and get in for just being an IGN member according to the site:
"Prime members get it first on Sep 4. Open to all IGN users on Fri, Sep 7."

I want to play it now so I signed up/payed via PayPal but so far I didn't get any key. This thing is bogus. What's the use of this if it takes them days to process this transaction?

Woah woah, calm down. You can't possibly call Hamma 'privileged' or 'entitled' because he is a veteran. There are a few things you need to take into account regarding the PlanetSide 2 beta ...

1.) Beta Priority and 'waves'.
The order is this: PlanetSide Subscribers, Inactive PlanetSide accounts, Priority beta testers, beta volunteers.
As new continents are released more testers are required. As more servers are activated more testers are required. Your beta key is certain to come at some stage in the near future.

2.) Opportunism
SOE have been giving out keys left right and centre. I have a friend who grabbed 2 keys from twitter, and I got my key from the SOE twitch tv livestream. Planetside Universe is giving out key(s) at 5,000 followers on twitter. Look around and you'll see there are plenty of opportunities to acquire a beta key.

That doesn't give him the right to behave like an ordinary troll though. If you are in a position like him, I expect to behave with his status, not to demoralize people who aren't so lucky. What in the WORLD are you smoking? I was saying it's cool more people are getting into beta. Thats many thousands more on the battlefield getting keys. I haven't the foggiest what you think I mean.

worked for me, :) got my code after i logged out then logged back into prime and clicked on get my planetside 2 beta key,

a hell of lot cheaper then what they where going for on ebay before lol

And how many people bought a magazine or something else just for a key.

If you do not wanna pay IGN, just wait till Friday, and maybe you get 1 then.

I have been posting this info left and right too, and I have seen zerozeroseven and Hamma do it 2.
That means we want to help people get in the game.

This worked for me. I payed my one month and got my beta key in about 10 minutes in my email. You can also check it in your profile on the IGN site if you don't get it in the email. Also, activated and got the download link as soon as I put the code in on planetside2.com. This is legit.

I bought the PC gamer july package 9 days ago and still no sign of my beta key.

I just left a message for IGN about this blatant "bait and switch" scam they pulled on us all. While they stuff us and dont give us beta keys im sure they wont hesitate to sell our emails to penis enlarginging manufacturers or bad dating sites so our spam filters can fill up a little more. Truly unacceptable and unethical. Can't find a cancel subscription button either. :mad:

The keys were avaliable for free users, i managed to get one an hour ago. Just clicked get beta key and boom there it was.

The issue was that on PS2's twitter they said nothing about this being limited. In fact they said that there was an unlimited number of keys and everyone would get one that signed up (presumably) before today (Friday). This is obviously not the case as I can go there now and it says they are out and on IGNs twitter they said they only had 3000 keys.

I'm very disappointed in, as far as I can see at the moment, being completely lied to.
