On Friday September 14th The 666th Devil Dogs will host the first Planetside 2 Death Race. The Death Race is a race through enemy territory from one faction's territory to another. This Death Race will start from the Suarva and complete at the VS Warpgate. The 666th will attempt to provide some air cover for the race, but race participants will be at the mercy of enemy forces. The winner will receive a faction Dog Tag. The start and or finish line may be changed just prior to the race depending on the conditions of the front lines.

The Death Race will be covered by SOE's Friday Night Ops stream hosted by Luperza and SOE's Eye in the Sky. The Eye in the Sky will watch the lead Flash throughout the race to keep it honest.

Death Race details:

Assembly time is 4:15pm PST in the Suarva courtyard, behind the South Shield on West01. (server subject to change) Race Time is 4:30pm PST

This Death Race will be run by the TR (All are welcome). Players will pull their TR Flashes, line up behind the South shield at Suarva and await the GO GO GO from EVILPIG.

The race will be from Suarva to the VS Warpgate.

Players may take any route they wish.

Players who die are eliminated from the race. No TKing permitted (The NC and VS will handle enough of the killing I'm sure).

If any survive, the first Flash to crash into the VS Warpgate wins.

**EDIT**Due to the change in empire warpgates, we have decided to keep the original race route, as it has already been timed and tested, but this means that this race is now a TR race. The start point of the race has been moved to Suarva due to the crevice outside the TR warpgate. A test run from Suarva, through West Highlands yielded a track time of 7 minutes. We will consider this race a test and will consider changes to the race procedures for the next race, which will run an entirely different route and empire.**EDIT**

Nah that's just one way up. They could go around to the south, or up the slopes to the west. But they must all go to the TR warpgate, so setting up there takes care of the ones that slip through the net.

I just bought an all around weapon for the quad, its called the HMG. I hope I didnt make a mistake, maybe I shoulda bought the grenade launcher. Maybe I will just buy both since the prices are so low for these weapons. Only about 2k auraxium for a weapon upgrade on your quad.

Since I'm gonna race as VS, starting from Suarva would be slightly easier for me. Realistically I'm not expecting to live long, but I get the feeling if it starts at the Warpgate I won't even get to start. :p

Create a NC character and race with the pack, that assures you that when you win Evilpig will send you the bright shiny vanu dogtag.

Yeah, it kills you once you go inside, as if you're going out of bounds. So I made it probably 30 feet in then got suicided.

I saw no TR make it in the dome. The closest I saw were two flashes. One was a burnt husk sitting against the dome and the other was about 20 feet out.

As for myself I actually joined up with the death race very temporarily because I was back hacking in a flash and happened upon the race. Joined in right before they hit VS territory but I died thanks to a piece of flaming gal debris.

The race was fun. I could apologize for those who had difficulties, but seriously, some people are just asses and they tried to ruin other's fun and succeeded. Most had fun. Some got Tk'd. That's life.
