I'm posting this on PSU hoping to reach a wider audience, you still need to be in the beta to participate but I know not everyone reads everything over on the OF so here we are.

PS2 Forum Thread (http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/tracking-the-ps2-economy-costs-usage-patterns.18331/)

Google Doc Data Entry Form: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGpkWFVyeW1nQzdZRS1RMnRZVWw5dmc6M Q#gid=0

The purpose of this thread is an attempt at tracking the changes in the cost of the various items that can be purchased with the in-game resources (Polymers, Alloys, Catalysts).

My Qualifications (heh): Armchair not quite yet graduated Major in Economics. This means I know just enough to produce some mediocre graphs or something!

What do I need from YOU?
Usage data! See the link at the top for how to submit. It is easy to fill out a google doc form on a tablet or smartphone, this way you don't have to alt tab and you can easily keep track of your purchases.

SOE obviously have someone doing what I am attempting to do and I will be working with a smaller data set but the more responses I get the more accurately I can model these costs. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

fake edit:

TIP: Note how many Grenades/C4/Etc you have at the beginning of your session and then note how many at the end to determine how many you used. The more accurate the data is the better my analysis will be.
