Audio corruption

Planetside 2's audio freaks out from time to time. im not sure how to describe but the sounds slows down and theres lots of loud clicks. Anyone know how to fix this?

Did you download your latest sound card drivers ?

I had some clicking noise with my second pc ( had a realtek onboard audio ) that was fixed by simply updating the drivers :)
