I get the feeling you never played the game much. It's hard to respond to you since your experiences seem to differ greatly from people that have played and experienced pop locks. It's like you played a 1 on 1 game or something.
When I remember sniping it was on cliffs or bridges with tons of people and targets. Each round you'd just keep putting bullets into anything that stood still for a second.
