Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought too at first. But the fact that they can be shot out of the cockpit would make it open right? So if all you could wear in the cockpit was agile, then you'd be much more vulnerable to snipers or other aircraft. I would think that being the case they'd let pilots proctect themselves better...

Pretty sure the Galaxy is the only one like this. Also, just because you can shoot through glass doesn't make the cockpit any less closed.
