Either they are outright lying because Total Biscuit did play it and he
is outside the company, thus making us all wonder what else they are lying about, who else has played it? Looking at my graph* it's clear to everyone that the explosions of interest in the game had to originate away from the base of the company, and yet we are told to believe that nobody else has had access to it? Ask questions people! Don't believe everything you hear, the truth is out there!
Or, Total biscuit is now part of SoE. However I am going with theory one.
