i think most players started at release

my reasoning for this is that as the years went by PS1 became less and less popular and release is when the highest populations were on also
from about 2005 onward most people i talked to (outside the game obviously) had never even heard of the game let alone played it
but at around release almost everyone i talked to (even in games like anarchy online which i was playing at the time) had heard of it and wanted to play
