I know that tweet. And of course they're looking into it, being the awesome devs they are.
Still, my point stands. They didn't consider prone an option until some lengthy discussions on forums, e.g.
here. And consequently they didn't build the game around it.
Any gameplay video I've seen, artificial cover was built around hip- to shoulder-height and there were hardly any open spaces where infantry would have to rely on prone to take cover. Accessible roofs had low walls around the edges where prone would be absolutely pointless if you wanted to see, let alone shoot anything.
So thanks for proving me wrong - not.
Don't get me wrong tho, I don't care if prone is in or not. I don't like it, and I probably won't use it as it doesn't fit my playstyle, but I have no issues with other people using it.
