Image in my head: Me and my squad of randoms are performing a night raid. One of them gets caught by a spotlight.
FLARES, EVERYWHERE.
Though I do see the tactical uses of flares, such as causing a diversion/distraction or otherwise drawing attention/awareness to the area, please, make it exclusive for officers or something, because the last thing I need to see when I get discovered is a second sun to be created by over-zealous patrols.
