I have an i7 980x... 2 gtx 480's (yes, my system contributes to global warming) and I bought the game on launch day in 2003... but I'm curled in the corner weeping without an invite, too.
Realistically... I bet the tech test is mostly VIPs and probably a very small % of the vets/whateverkeysaremostimportant.
I'll save my real tears for when the beta starts and I'm not in.
