Looking at the pic(the concept art and the render) the MAXes wings they almost look like they have some sort of thruster in them. The wings could be like a thrust vectoring,the thrusters fire and give you a boost in the way you're goin. Kinda like how they have it set up in hawken.
I'm insane I know.
